Simple, firm hold. I use it on a rhino rack platform and have driven across the USA carefree with this holding my bike fork. (I also had a different brace for the rear wheel, but this holds the front fork nicely.

this product seemed well-made and knowing the construction of my vehicle I was able to install that easily but if you have no knowledge of what's under the sheet metal of the bed of your truck you should probably ask a mechanic to put it on for you it looks good stays out the way not much in the way of security features but there are two small voids in the frame of it that you can run a cable lock through so it does somewhat have security features seems to be made out of tough materials it holds my mountain bike in the back just fine even over rough roads and terrain I do however have to put a bungee cord across chsinstays to hold the back of it in place over big bumps or fast turns.

We installed ours to wood post then sent a ratchet strap through the bike body and secured it to the hooks by the tailgate. This makes the bikes easy to reach from the tailgate (8foot bed). Very sturdy. Tired of using a bike rack on the back of the travel trailer... almost lost a bike... thanks to the passing motorist for letting us know. This seems like a better and safer way to travel. We fit 3 bikes. Daughter’s bike is 2” smaller so we were able to mount them closer to each other. Still room for more bikes.

I'm really very happy with this product. It is high quality and durable, both in general build quality of the stand and the quality of the clamping mechanism (I was pleasantly surprised). The logos are well placed, crisp, and centered. My bikes feel very safe when clipped in, and even with only one bike and driving like an ******* around corners on purpose there was never a moment when it felt like it was shifting around or in danger of banging up my interior.Hardware is not included, which is too bad, so you'll need: (assuming you used a 3/4 inch plywood board as I did)Two 1/4 inch bolts, 1 inch long. Two washers of some kind. Two nuts to fit your 1/4 inch bolts.Double this if to buy two mounts like I did, of course. The holes in the plate for mounting the item are 3 inches apart and 1/4 inch diameter (no thread). There is also a threaded bolt hole in the center that I didn't use. The plate is 1/4 inch thick such that a 1 inch bolt going through this plate and a 3/4 inch plywood board will NOT sit proud below the bottom of the board (this is good design). The board I used is 32 inches long and 6 inches wide which seems pretty ideal. The bolts in the bottom should be counter-sunk with a forster or spade bit to the size of your washer so that the board sits flat against the vehicle floor and there are no bolts sticking out the bottom. My car is a Mazda CX7 which is a pretty mid-sized SUV. I recommend checking that your bike fits inside without a front wheel and that you can close the hatch before you buy anything. If you have a truck you can probably bolt the item directly to your tailgate.Too much information, maybe, but these are the questions I asked myself when I bought the item. I hope this helps someone. I'm very happy to be able to get my bikes around by car now without worrying about them getting scratched up or marring the plastic interior panels of my car.Pulling a bike out of the car and fixing the seat and wheel so I'm ready to go takes about 60 seconds.

This mount is exactly as described - sizing and description is accurate, base is solid and strong, end cap rotation and lever action is smooth and easy, holds the bike fork tight and secure - very happy!

I mounted two of these on my trucks' tool box to carry our mountain. bikes, and ECR and An Ogre. - worked perfectly, and in combination with some straps and bike locks, made the bikes secure and theft resistant in the truck bed.

Mounted on top of a utility body with a Trex board under it . The mount fit the Rockshox fork OK but, I have to line it up just so to tension it. Overall, inexpensive and holds the bike solid while traveling.

Works ok, however the rubber O rings that are supposed to provide some resistance to keep the stem centered is easily moved by the slightest tap from the fork being inserted, so you have to keep repositioning these and trying again. Real pain. I finally found some fatter O rings that provided enough resistance to keep them in place while mounting the fork. Now they work fine and don't move while mounting. These stems are too fat to allow you to put the typical springs you see on a regular bike stem, or the springs would be a simple solution. If you stretch out some springs to fit to keep the stem centered, the springs add too much extra diameter to get the fork on the stem.

This is a great piece of equipment I have attached it to a piece of wood (width of my car) making my bike so easy to transport in my car - with the rear seats dropped. Carrying my bike in this fashion means i still have a lot of space in the car for other things. Absolute genius, it feels sturdy and will keep the bike fork in place and the bike in one place even as I take sharp corners! I didn't want to carry the bike outside the car for security reasons.

I have 2 bikes and an SUV. I was able to carry only one bike by lying it down. I bought 2 of these; now I can mount both my bikes (or one).Pros: So much cheaper than a bicycle rack, safer against theft and the elements.Cons: I deducted one star because the axis is lower than the handle...therefore, is not easy to rotate it 360 degrees. First I mounted them on 2 pcs. of 2x2 cut as wide as its base to give enough clearance for the handle then screwed them on a 6x1x48 wood.
