This is a great product for my stainglass projects no issues using tacs or soldering on it. I just wish it came in smaller sizes for different sized projects.

Aside for paying $31 for this nice board for doing stain glass, it came with corners damaged. Most likely due to the fact it was put in a box way to big when shipped and got bounced around. I'll keep it, try to sand corners down a bit and see if helps. Sad to pay good money for name brand and received poor quality material.

This arrived in good condition without any damage. It reminds me a lot of drywall, but it seems more compressed. My husband is looking to get into stained glass making, so this is one of the items we ordered to get his setup underway. Still, he doesn’t yet have all the supplies he needs to begin, and he also can’t compare this to any other board he’s tried, since as a complete beginner, he’s never tried any other board before. What we DO notice initially, though, is that this board is a good size for a work surface, being big enough to protect a tabletop on which it sits. It’s solid yet very porous, and it has that softness to it that you’d expect from something like drywall. I doubt it would scratch a tabletop, but I wouldn’t expect a very fancy tabletop to be used as a crafting zone anyway. The edges look a little frayed, and the surface has all kinds of smudge markings, so it’s definitely a shabby-looking work surface and not something you’d want on display. It’s generally flat and square, but it does have a very slight bow to it. We’re quite happy with it for its potential to serve as an appropriate and protective work surface for stained glass cutting and designing.
