I’m a retired paramedic and I just purchased two of these for my sons and their families. Both families have small children and their worth their weight in gold if one of them starts choking. I also have one in my home for emergencies.

My 11 month old baby choked on a plastic item and I’m so thankful I had this handy! I NEVER expected to use it, but wanted to be safe. I’m beyond thankful for this device and my baby’s wellbeing ❤️ I would recommend everyone to buy this and keep it handy. You never know when you may need it!

I got a few of these kits for myself and my family as gifts, it sounds random for a gift but it shows you care and not a lot of people even know this product exists. Get one! Hopefully will never have to use mine but seems like good quality for the value. Money well spent.

I haven’t had to use this yet but I’ve tested it out and it eases my worries for BLW and the risk of choking. It only takes 3 min of lack of oxygen to cause harm to your little one, so if the normal methods of trying to help when choking don’t work. This is an ease of mind to have this in my cabinet just in case. the quality and value is great, and very functional for your house

September 10, 2024:First, I think this is a device with great potential to help rescue someone who is choking. The design includes exhaust valves to minimize forcing air (and the obstruction) into the lungs. Also, the family kit (they sell other configurations) includes masks of different sizes to better fit a range of ages. It offers a no-touch method versus mouth-to-mouth, though that might be a less important consideration for immediate family. Based on the thoughtful design, I believe this product deserves 5 stars.There are a few issues for the potential buyer to consider.1. It's quite expensive and the pump is good for one use only. Once it has extracted debris, it becomes unsanitary.2. Will it be handy when it's actually needed? Keeping the kit near the kitchen or dining table at home is practical, but taking it everywhere is less so. Of course, if one has family or friends who are prone to repeat choking, that would make it useful to carry. Still, it's wise to learn the Heimlich Maneuver in case this assist kit not at hand.3. To effectively use the kit, one must read the instructions and practice to be prepared. They recommend using a clean flat surface; I used a dry erase board. The suction is effective.Regarding the kit I received, I checked everything with each step of the instructions and discovered that one of the two exhaust valves did not open. Pressing that valve from the sides broke the seal and made it functional. Still, that is something that should have been caught and fixed before selling it. For this reason, I removed a star.

Thankfully I haven't needed to use it but it's great to have available.
