decently warm. the mask is my favorite part. it comes off and I've used it a few times. the head piece feels cheap and a bit too small for me.

As I crawl out of my post apocalyptic bunker in the frozen wilds I always remember to button up my face cover on this cap. It has survived several attacks from the mutant irradiated crows that regularly attack my skull as I trudge outside at 6am to feed my chickens. Very warm, very comfortable, and I like the style.

I got this hat to try out while deer hunting. It is nice and warm and fairly comfortable. The 2 biggest issues are that one is not very deep so the heat sits high on your head and the way to tighten it is with a cinch in the to back. So when you tighten it just rides higher on your head so you have to keep pulling it down. The second issue, is the outer fabric is like tent material so it's fairly loud and makes a scratchy noise when it rubs against a tree or your jacket collar.

We finally got our first snow of the season and temps in the 20s this past weekend and so I got to really try this out. It's comfy and warm. Now we just have to wait for the single and negative temps sure to come this winter and I will update my review. I like the versatility of it and the attachable mask to keep my face warm (or for the next mild pandemic outbreak). I'm a beanie and hat aficionado, so I am happy to add this to my collection for those extra chilly outings.

I have an old hat that is very similar to this, though made with leather. My wife and son enjoy making fun of my hat, yet when it comes time to clear snow from the driveway in Wisconsin winters, my hat mysteriously disappears only to be found on one of their heads. I saw and got this hat to spread the warmth this winter. The material feels pretty standard for nylon or polyester or whatever, but I'm not sure how waterproof or water resistant this will be in real use - much like winter gloves. That aspect makes me skeptical, but I can't deduct a star for that until I'm able to use it in wet weather.However, I WAS able to use it in cold, dry weather this weekend when camping one evening, and it really did keep my head toasty warm. The inside faux fur and material was quite comfortable and provided good insulation for my noggin. I liked how it clips on the bottom or you can clip the ears up, and the adjustable band allows you to tighten or loosen it to a degree. The face mask is a nice feature that my old hat does not have and which may come in very handy when it is really cold and/or when we have windy, blizzardy conditions. I have a bit smaller head compared to a lot of folks I know and thought the mask fit just right. I can see where the mask might be a bit tight on someone else - it would be nice if it was adjustable. Still, for me this is great and I think will work well - whether it is on my head or someone else in my family.
