The reviews were good and I was looking for a nice sturdy sword I could use around the house (I trim my hedges with a samurai sword). Straight out of the box i loved this thing. Yeah, it's a bit heavy, and I think that's awesome. Yeah, it's a bit tight in the scabbard, and that's great too. I've never cared for how easy a samurai sword comes out of the sheath. This thing feels like it means business and yes, it came sharp. It's not as sharp as it's gonna be after I work on it, but it's shipped ready to go. Would recomend.

This is a great sword. I love the handle and length of the sword. The weight to me is perfect, some may say it's too heavy, but I say it's just right. It came very sharp. I hacked up some fruits. I sliced a huge orange and apple both with one strike. The polish and shine are awesome. Has a little snag when almost fully inserted into its scabbard, but nothin to sweat about. Overall, I love it so much It made me order the Boshin Katana and a couple of sword display stands for my living room.

On my way home after reciving this package I was attacked I was surounded by twelve pale men weilding mighty frozen pool noodles. "Do you really choose this fate" I said drawing my new blade, the men stood still frozen with fear... "so be it" in a split second I slashed each of their might weapons in half but before they could hit the ground I let loose a flurry of cuts like never before, it was an epic scene with each swing sending carrot noses and chuncks of my snowy opponents flying in every direction. As the song a steel and snow fell silent I let out a triumphant "yaaaasss" before sheathing my blades and returning home

Has a great feel in hand, a bit heavier than I expected & weight is centered in handle it seems, but the grip is wonderful. Only complaint is that the the scabbard is tight

For the price it's a steal. Comes sharp. Sheath is snug enough to shake upside down and stay put, within reason. *****1 month in update: sword is awesome, scabbard is very low quality - simply drawing and resheathing made both the scabbard kurigata (round horn fastening the cord around the scabbard in place) and the koiguchi (horn lining the scabbard entrance) broke off with minimal use and gentle storage , causing the sheathed snugness to completely disappear. BE CAREFUL it will slide out and cut you deep if you hold upside down. Reducing the rating to 3.5-4 stars altogether. Edge got a small nick from striking a metal wire, but that's to be expected. Still a good deal if you're careful

I purchased this sword for my son‘s 26th birthday. I just wanted to get him one cool thing that he would never buy for himself. Plus , admittedly, I wanted to play with it myself. It seems to be worth much more than I paid. It’s not a stamped piece of junk that you might get at a Renaissance fair. It’s like a real sword the handle is solid in the pommel is kind of wicked. The blade is very nice.Do you really need a sword like this? Yes I think you do. You can’t beat the price for what you get. If you have young nieces and nephews and enough disposable income, I would suggest you buy one for each of them. Nothing says you’re the cool uncle more than a gift like this. Your sister/sister-in-law, may not appreciate it but they probably don’t care for much of anything that you do, so go for it.

This thing looked great on line..... 10x better in person! The blade is strong , good flex , no scratches anywhere , and sharp as hell!!! The edge dose have a tiny bur on the one side but im Not complaining! It was sharpened on a belt grinder .... my guess 160-180grit .... it didnt take me long with a couple stones and some TLC to get this sword SCARY SHARP! Absolutely fantastic work on this blade for symmetry, polished to near mirror finish , and right out of the box 90% professional sharpening!First sword ive purchased on Amazon, VERY impressed, well done guys , for the price, id give it 6 stars if there was one more!

The package arrived promptly. The sword is a cool design, and seems very solid and well-made. It feels good in the hands. The blade is more than a quarter inch thick, thicker and heavier than a machete, and less sharp. Double-edge? More like no edge. I originally gave it three stars based upon that, and then came back and added a fourth star to my review after I had cut some poor defenseless milk jugs in half and hacked a tree stump all to bits. The blade actually cut the milk jugs surprisingly well, and it was no duller after I had destroyed a stump than it was when I started. I also stabbed the stump repeatedly; the blade bends but springs back to its original shape. I don't think it is possible to damage this blade, and considering how dull it is, it cuts shockingly well. It is especially well-suited for stabbing. I'm glad I bought it. I'd give it five stars, except that it was advertised as "razor sharp", which it very much isn't.

The design is low key pretty decent. I like being able to make cuts on the reverse swings, but not enough to overcome the drawbacks. No curve in the blade takes away from power strikes. The Tsuba is useless. The pommel is great, very Dooku like and it works perfectly. The grip is nice. Not as capable one handed as one would hope. It gains some of the versatility of a bastard sword but loses all the best parts of a katana. 5/10 wouldn't recommend. Would like to see a redesign made from better steel. Like T10. Just go buy a Murasami sword.
