Very good DIY project for your Jeep and makes such a difference on the look with metal instead of the easily fading plastic pieces! Thank you for a quality product!

Unfortunately, I never got to install these as I ended up having to sell my Jeep. But they look and feel well made, and I'm bummed I never got a chance to try them!

They don’t last, I have bought 2 sets and both of them came out and ended up losing screws

Installed these a few days ago on my 2018 Wrangler JL Rubicon. Overall I really liekd the lok and functionality on my Jeep. They are a little more difficult to lock/unlock than the original, but I love the adjustability. They are all metal with the exception of the locking mechanism which is a plastic clip. They do give you 4 locks in case one breaks.Installation was a breeze, 2 nuts on the top, one on the bottom. I did find it better to leave it a little loose and get it all adjusted, then tighten everything up. Once installed just adjust the latch tension and tighten the lock nuts. I was able to adjust the lines to ensure they were even on both sides. Maybe 30 mins to install both.I didnt ding the review, but my one complaint was that while harware was included, there were no washers. I grabbed a few from my workbench to make sure I didnt scrape paint away from the panels. They should be included, especially with the corrostion issues these jeeps have.

This is a set of two latching hood locks for Jeep Wrangler jk JKU JL JLU. These adjustable locks are black powder coated for a weather and corrsion resistant finish. There are two lock adjusting tools included in the set as well as anti-scratching rubber pads. The easy to install locks are custom fitted for the various Wrangler hoods. The set comes with installation hardware but simple tools are required for the install. The high performance locks will ensure that the hood remains locked even in the roughest of off road conditions or driving at high speeds.Would recommend these to anyone.

You need these if you have a jeep wrangler. These look EXACTLY like the Rugged Ridge hood latches. They’re beefy! Much bigger than the stock latches and make a tight connection between your hood and jeep. And guess what? NO MORE BOUNCING!!! There is not much scarier than hoping that a dry rotted rubber strap is going to stay in one piece in heavy winds or cruising down the highway. At 70 (yes it will do 70 downhill) the bounce was absolutely insane. No more! Took about 30 minutes to install and the hard part was getting to the fender side nut. Pulled the air filter box and the passenger side was EASY! Driver’s side required a 13mm, an extension and wobble fitting. Wasn’t bad at all. Buy it, you need it!Finish looks great and the stainless fasteners are going to last a long long time.

I really wanted to like this, it feels hefty and pretty durable. I got this to replace a cheaper quality latch that was starting to rust (I have a 2017 JKU so existing set was ~6 years old).Couple key problems:1) Requires a rubber nub from the OEM latches (so if you don't have the OEM latches, this will not work)2) After digging around, I did find the OEM latches, I pulled the rubber bumper from it and attached to these new latches. Two problems here. The OEM rubber bumpers really don't fit all that well and are barely holding on. Secondly, as you can see from the attached picture, the OEM latches are "barbed" so it does not slip off. These latches are not so the bumber simply slides off.Maybe the design of the JL/JLU is different but I don't think so. Without the bumbers, the hood will potentially hit the fenders so you really don't want to go without them.I don't understand why these latches did not just use a rubber gasket that include the bumpers and not rely on using the OEM bumpers (that could be very old and crumbly to begin with).Regardless, I only had one side off of my old ones so I reinstalled them and these went back into the box.
