Was easy to install, and now the hood release handle can be opened with a single finger.. Works much smoother than original cable that was 15 years old.

Don’t recommend at all. Item I received was extremely poor quality and actually seemed like it was about to break on first use. Wire was too long making it imposible to open latch as there was extra slack left within wire. To top it off the actual plastic pull leveler was not sturdy enough to clamp wire in place like it should. Money down the drain.

Lubricate the hood latch mechanism and make sure it stays lubed. This can’t take much stress. Snap!! Factory is the same. But if you’re replacing this, you really need to service the hood latch otherwise you’ll be replacing it again… and again… and again…

The item I received fit my daughters's 2008 (3rd gen) Grand Cherokee.My original issue (which I heard is common) was that the OEM interior pull latch broke, near the part that holds the cable in place. In retrospect I could have probably just popped the handle off the old one and used this handle, since they are exactly the same size. Either way, correct fit and a decent price, so 5 stars. Thanks!

Very cheap quaintly mounting bracket was digitally printed plastic and broke right away after installation
