Hasn't broken yet. Great value for the money. My vac tech says no matter what brand of belt you buy, they can last a week, or years...you just never know.

My Hoover widepath has a 17 Amp. motor. This belt drives the floor agitator which works with the vaccum to pull dirt from the carpet/floor in to the dirt cup. Thus, this belt is essential for the proper operation of the vacuum cleaner. The belt operates under high tension and heat as it turns the agitator. Under such conditions, it is fairly easy to snap the belt if the agitator gets jammed. After installing a brand new belt recently, I inadvertently allowed the edge of a throw rug to get pulled into the agitator and jam it. The brand new belt snapped within 5 seconds after the agitator stopped turning due to being jammed. So, be very careful and try to vauccum over anything that can get pulled in to the agitator. When the belt is intact and all the filters are clean, the Hoover Widepath is an excellent vacuum cleaner for a Bagless.

I read some review about the trouble installing this belt on Hoover vacuum cleaners. I installed this on our three year old Hoover vacuum, model UH70100, with out issues. What I did was unclip the base on the two places, really simple, and then looped the drive shaft first, passed it through the gap and then connected the cylindrical brush. THis was the trickiest part. What worked for me was put a portion of the radius of the brush, the end with the smooth portion, this is where the belt will reside, and spinned the brush until I was able to get the belt to its location. I then placed the opposite end, the one without the belt, close to its location and then forced the end with the belt slowly until I was able to press both ends into their slots. All in all, it took me less than 5 minutes to do and works perfectly. Not to mention that this is a 2 pack and I have a spare one if I ever need another one in 3 years.

We have a Hoover Windtunnel that is ~ 2.5 years old. We don't have pets or young kids -- but we vacuum often because we are retired at home all day. Our vacuum wasn't performing well, so we thought we would try replacing the belt. It was so inexpensive how could I go wrong? It arrived the same week we ordered it via US Mail. Yes, the belt is tight to go on -- but nothing that isn't as horrible as some people make it out to be on the reviews. A belt is supposed to be tight. I put the belt over the motor pin first -- then over the agitator (sweeper part) and slipped into the bracket. We are thrilled. It is like a new vacuum. I also took the time to clean the bottom parts of debris and put in a new bag and filter. I thought I would have to buy a new vacuum -- but just needed a new belt. Great product, great price. We ordered 2 just in case we needed to replace it again. Would definitely buy again if I needed it.

After reading some reviews saying this was to small and very hard to put on I was a little hesitant about buying. Well I did not need to be, perfect fit. Had my husband put it on, took him less than 2 minutes. I am sure once my shoulder is better I will have no problem replacing it myself. Got two belts for less then $3 not bad at all. Will purchase again when the need arises.Vacuum is working great again. Very happy with purchase.
