My existing gun started leaking lots of glue when hot. Replaced it with this tip that includes a new check valve, and now there is no more leaking or drips. This new tip is a little longer than the original, but that is not a problem for me. I actually prefer it. If it ever becomes a problem, I can easily cut off 1/4 inch of the tip with a hacksaw. To replace the tip, I removed the silicon insulating cap, heated the gun until glue just started to flow (when gently pulling the trigger), unplugged the power, and unscrewed the tip with pliers. To my surprise, the damaged valve remained in the gun, so I pulled it out with needle nose pliers, and then screwed the new tip into the gun. Lastly I powered the gun waited a few minutes and slowly fed about half a glue stick into the gun - until there were no more air bubbles coming out in the glue stream. Lastly I put the silicon cap back over the tip. The quality of materials and the workmanship look good. I recommend the product.
