There are only two differences between this solenoid and an original Ford solenoid: 1) It's red. And; 2) the ignition and start terminals are a bit longer so you can easily attach other wires without concern over wire security. The big terminals are nice copper studs and are the same length at the factory terminals. A good value.

The part has quality workmanship. This fit onto the vehicle with no issues (1987 Mustang 5.0 convertible). Highly recommend this part for older vehicles (1960 to 1993).
