This is an adorable little sand box for any hamster. It's big enough for a syrian, and if you have a dwarf there are little steps inside so he won't have any issues getting out. The top comes off easily for easy cleaning, but snaps on well enough that it won't be falling off on it's own, keeping sand inside. The walls are flat enough that if you wanted you can glue popsicle sticks all over it to double as a hide. The only thing to be careful of is the plastic around the opening is a bit thin so if your ham is a chewer you might want to line it with another material so he doesn't end up with plastic shards in his mouth.Overall, I really love this little sand bath, it is adorable and practical.

My hamster isn't a huge fan that it's transparent so I use it for food because she won't hide in it.

I had a problem with this item as my pet rat was to big to fit in it. When the company found out they fully refunded my money!!!! We use these for gerbils, not hamsters, but they work just as well. The smooth plastic makes them so easy to clean out, and I REALLY appreciate the fact that the roof comes off for that purpose, because I once had a similar "house" without that feature, and it was incredibly annoying to clean well. We've had no issues at all with the rodents' trying to chew on it, which surprised me - I guess it doesn't have a satisfying texture, so they don't even bother. It promises to last a long time (unless we drop it, because it does seem to be that brittle acrylic).My daughter was disappointed that the color was not a stronger purple, but I think it looks pretty cool, being virtually colorless when looking at the material head-on, but having the strong purple tint when the plastic is seen lengthwise. The gerbils have not expressed a color preference, either way, and I'm beginning to suspect that they might not even care - philistines.They do genuinely enjoy snuggling in the house, though, and that's truly all that matters. Happy gerbils for the coziness, happy mama for the cleaning ease, and happy-ish kids for the purple-ish tone.

We wanted a dust box for my granddaughters hamster. I like that you can see what Mr. Hamster is up to in the dust box. It seems well made, hopefully the hamster doesn't think it makes a good chewing object. It will be easy to clean if needs be.
