I like that it holds up to the West Texas winds. It is sturdy and stays put in the ground and on the clothesline. I will be purchasing another one.

I used two of them for a single 30 ft clothes line. They couldn't support the weight if I hung anything on the line they just kept collapsing. I followed the suggestion from another person who purchased the same supports and said that putting duct tape on the poles that fit inside the outer pole made them work. After installing the duct tape and getting the inner pole into the outer pole and screwing everything back together they work perfectly. I really didn't want to return them because I need them but they absolutely do not work if you put any weight on the line. This was an amazing fix suggested by another purchaser and I really appreciate it.

This pole was designed to lift clothes ( sheets ) higher so as not to touch the ground by turning the middle. It won’t stay up. No matter how much you turn the pole, the weight of the sheets brings the pole lower. The old wooden design was much better.

I am using this prop to support the center of a very long pressure rod that has four linen curtain panels on it. The span is so broad that the pressure rod sagged in the center. This prop is working successfully to prevent that sag. I tightened the top connector firmly to keep the top pole from sliding down, but I never did figure out what the loose spring inside the lower pole was supposed to do. I suspect there’s an internal part missing that should make this pole act more like a pressure rod. But who’s to say? At any rate, it’s doing the job I wanted it to do. I deducted one star for the mystery spring. I found no rust, as some reviewers have mentioned. The prop is powder coated gray. Also…I notice on many other reviews that people are trying to use this prop as a substitute for a clothesline pole. It is not intended to be used that way. It is instead intended to prop up a sagging clothesline that is already installed on appropriate clothesline poles. I can understand low ratings for rust and missing parts, but low ratings for misuse should be ignored.

Sturdy, lasts, easy to use. Have used for 5 years, just does the job. Saw other posts with less stars...maybe I just got a good one. Works for me though.Bought a different one from Amazon at same time. It was made of thin, ridged aluminum. It worked well, but just stepped on it and flattened metal. Not as robust as this one. Did splint it with wood lathe and Gorilla tape. Back in action. Both worked and happy to get 5 + years out of them.

I ordered the first one , it works so well a week later I ordered the second one . I’ve taken two pictures the first is the top how you run a line is you just push it down and move it to the right or the left until secure. Mine have stayed even in our Oklahoma winds!! The second picture is of where you extend it . Twist to loosen and twist back to tighten . righty tighten to be lefty Loosy

Can't find supperlatives or excess praise for this, it does its job perfectly and is well made. Easy to use. Arrived with zip tied product packaging cut and fallen at the bottom of the box but product looked new/unused. Only issue I ran into is that it can be a little hard to tighten in the center and so can slip down in length if not really tight. Great product, thats all I can say.
