I purchase product on May 3rd, 2025. The product is really light-weight, the quality of the tool itself is very good, and the power of the motor is strong for all residential standard lawn and yard care. I've had a Ryobi combo weed-trimmer and edger that I absolutely loved and the battery recently stopped taking a charge after like 9 years. Unfortunately, Ryobi changed their battery format and I could not find a replacement battery which lead me to searching for something non-Ryobi. I ended up purchasing this tool because it uses the DeWalt battery system and in my opinion that's a big plus. The tool does have an automatic string advancement, which is a nice feature just like my old Ryobi. In short, this tool does the just as good a job as my old took, is awesome quality, and works well for an incredibly reasonable price... I'd say get it, especially if you're already invested into the DeWalt battery system.

I’m really happy with this weed eater! It trimmed and edged my yard beautifully—clean lines, no hassle. It’s lightweight but powerful enough to handle thick patches without bogging down. One of the best parts is that it works with my existing DeWalt batteries, so I didn’t need to buy anything extra. A great addition to my yard tools—highly recommend!

Since I have several DeWalt 20 volt tools, this weed eater fit the bill for me.We live in our 5th wheel for the time, and sometimes my grass cutting ideas isn't on the maintenance man's schedule. I used a 5 AH battery, used up half of the charge trimming the dandelions and grass around the place neat and tidy. This is not for cutting 2 foot high tough grass, for that go gasoline, you'll burn it up. But for keeping a small area cleaned up, it works well.

EDIT: it started smoking again as soon as I squeezed the trigger. Totally shot. 1 day of use. 1 day. Now yes, I did cut a lot, but honestly, it should not have cooked (literally) after one operation.Bang for buck, get it.Put it right to the test. Bush-hogged knee high growth, roughly 250 sq feet. Stopped when I started seeing smoke 😬Let it rest and kept going just a bit. 4ah battery drained up and called it quits. It never stopped on me and I fully believe it’ll start right back next time I need it.And yes, I took the motor head off and left it in the middle of the driveway. It’ll stay out there all night just to be safe.I’d recommend using dewalt batteries and stick to 4ah as this appears to be its max run time. (In more ways than one)

If you want a lightweight trimmer and have 20V Dewalt batteries, this your trimmer! It's not for commercial use, but is perfect for the average homeowner that keeps their yard manicured and seems durable enough to handle that task. Easy to assemble, like many guys & gals, that don't read instructions, I pulled it out of the box and had it assembled in no time and gave it a test run ASAP. I love the adjustable handle and the rotating trimmer head makes edging a breeze. It works well and a great buy for the price. I'm 5'9" and the length of this baby is perfect for my height. If you don't jump on this one, you are truly missing out!

For what it is, it works and completes the task. It's definitely light weight as compared to other more OEM options, but I am not sure if this will lend well to longevity. Hard to know at this point as it was only used briefly so far. It does require assembly, but it's not hard at all. There's only one actual screw that is needed to be installed with a screwdriver - the rest just slide/twist locks together. Which this also means that if you feel like you need to have a portable unit, or want to break it down to put it more easily in a trunk or something, this will do that task well. Quality seems decent, but it's not the same OEM quality you'd get by buying name brand. But, this should be expected at this price point. If you are rough or careless with your tools, you might find a failure point faster than OEM. The head adjusts to use the roller wheel to edge along concrete - which works well enough and is definitely more sturdy than just free hand holding it. Yet to be seen how the roller assembly holds up over time. Being an electric tool, it's not overly heavy and the motor head seems powerful enough to do most/any trimming tasks, and it's relatively quiet. The one downside that I can for sure point out, is the string assembly is a bit of an enigma. This is not a bump feed head. And there's not much documentation on the string head, so it's kind of a mystery. I can't tell if it's trying to auto feed the string, or if you have to use the button on the side of the head to advance the string manually. The string spool is wound up, and then you rotate the spool to wind it up like a spring, so that the spring will advance the string as it unspools. It's probably very similar to other non-bump-fed spool heads, but I do not have experience with those. If you don't need anything sophisticated, just something cheaper than the rest, to do the task at hand, this will do the job. But with the understanding that this is a 'compatible with' product, which might not come with all the same quality or longevity levels as buying the more expensive OEM tools.

When I received the box with the string trimmer, I was surprised how compact the box was and wondered if I received the correct item. I was pleasantly surprised at not only were all the components in the box, but how easy it was to assemble. The assembly instructions were very simple and really not needed, as the 6 parts were easily joined together just by looking at them. It took all of 5 minutes to have this string trimmer ready to go. My Dewalt 20v battery fit perfectly and this tool clipped my grass edging and weeds with a very high powered spinning line. When I was finished, it hung neatly with my other tools on my dowel wall hanger. I've owned a gas-powered Kawasaki string trimmer in the past and it was twice as heavy as this tool and of course all the mess of gas and oil. Not to mention the Kazz trimmer was upwards of $350. This trimmer is a steal for the low price! Thanks Houselife for a great product!Oh, and it came with a warranty card and an email address to register the trimmer. It extended the warranty for 1 year.
