I purchased an old laserjet 4050tn and was hoping to find a Duplexer. This works great. My old printer, prints like a new printer (on both sides)

The duplexer was packaged well with bubble wrap. When I unpackaged I noticed a crack in the cover. My thoughts were if only a crack perhaps a bit of glue and it will be fine.I looked in the box and there were pieces in the box. I was quite concerned. Continued to set it up and pieces just kept falling off. Once I put it in the printer the printer kept registering an error "paperjam" in the duplexer. How could there be a jam if I had yet to use it.I am so disappointed! This duplexer was to save me a lot of time and increase my productivity while working form home.

Leider war HP Duplexeinheit beschädigt und wurde retour gesendet. Der Preis für die Ware wurde bei der Bank abgezogen. Leider könnte ich keine Rückerstattung auf meinem Konto feststellen. mfg. Anton Koller

With no instructions it was a bit difficult to figure out the installation. With patience, it's really easy though. Do an online search and you'll find the details. Once installed it works but the mechanism is a bit finicky. It does work but I've had a few jams doing duplex and I have not found any cause. Just clear the jam and try again and it works.

My husband had been wanting a duplexer ever since he acquired this printer in 2007 from a position he worked at. At the time though refurbished options were not available here on Amazon, and a new one wasn't worth the cost (his printer is finicky at times on paper feed and he cannot fill the trays except to 20-25% of capacity). It was several years since he last looked and when he found this item bought it immediately.We have printed many documents since installing (it was a breeze, but the AC power cord plug on the HP4000 N we have is in the worst of places if and when you install the duplexer - he took a hobby knife to cut shielding so as to bend the cable 90 degrees), ranging from 2 pages to as high as 128, and the duplexer has not failed yet. Highly recommend giving your old B/W networked printer this adapter to keep it churning along.

HP 4000 printers and duplexers are a must have. They are almost bulletproof.

Whoopee! A slow but Industrial quality printer!I bought the LaserJet 4000 at auction for $4.95It had been recently overhauled and included a new 6000 page cartridge and a jet-direct card!Now it's duplex!A wee but noisy, but for this print quality, ease of networking and price? WHO CARES!
