I have been a user of Aruba's controller based APs and Instant APs for years, have been and still are very happy. These InstantOn models are a complete different story. In my experience, if the Internet connection drops for whatever reason, the switch does not reconnect with the cloud service. We had a power outage that lead to connectivity issues for a week. The only way to recover was to reset all the components to factory defaults. I also had issues with serveral IoT devices. Once reverting to the Aruba "real" Instant APs all my issues cleared. I am definitely not a fan of InstantOn.

This is the third Aruba 1930 switch in my home network/home lab. Works as expected. Only wish the SFP+ on this model was 10G, as with the 24 and 48 port versions. I would purchase again.

Great features for the price, will most likely be purchasing more in the future.

I experimented with Aruba Instant On to attempt to take advantage of the higher speed Spectrum service that I am now receiving. I was trying to replace a Unifi SG and Ubiquiti APs which for some reason had speeds being capped at about 130 mbps when 500+ mbps was out of the new modem. The Aruba 1930 Instant On setup wasn't as simple as the explanations and instructions make it seem. I finally realized that the Aruba wasn't detecting the network until I power off and on the modem. Once I discovered powering off and on the modem was the only way the Aruba Instant On devices would show up on the network while trying to setup on the app, things started to go much more straight forward. Another item to note is that these Aruba Instant On devices take a long time to get online when powering off and on. It takes so long that it seems like it's not going to work (almost 5 minutes). I also had to get a router (I was under the impression the Aruba 1930 would work when directly connected to the modem, but I was never able to get it to work that way). It was an expensive upgrade just to take advantage of the higher speeds I am now getting from Spectrum, considering my Unifi setup was rather costly when setup 4 years ago. Hopefully this new Aruba Instant On setup keeps up with the pace for more than 4 years.

Excellent solution for Home/Small-Business use. Robust command line and GUI allow local management at nearly the same level as Enterprise/Pro Equipment. But all of that is dumbed down once you join it to the cloud. Abilities are severely limited on the Cloud, but most Small Business owners and Home Users wont know the difference. Easy to setup using the Cloud interface for the non technical. So far it powers all my AP's and Cameras. Switch occasionally shows a PoE Power Fault and blinks orange, but that seems to be a reporting glitch and to date has not caused any issues. Almost dropped rating to 4 because of it...but like I stated, to date the PoE fault has not caused any issues.

Well, I’m a little biased since I work for the company, but I installed these switches at both my home and my cabin with ceiling mount access points, on each of two floors and a Remote AP (desktop model) in my office. Could not have been any easier. Works like a charm and the configuration, management and connections are easy enough for a child to do. Love the product and Love the company.

Picked up the 10 port poe variant along with an ap22 to replace my Ubiquiti UniFi setup. I was able to utilize the two sfp ports with copper gbix and have those setup with 2 other copper ports in a lagg to my firewall. From there an ap12, ap22 and all other ports occupied. As a Ubiquiti UniFi replacement it's been great. Cloud functionality is on par to what the alpha and beta versions of Ubiquiti UniFi for both wireless and wired setup. This variant is fanless and I recommend not stacking anything directly on top even with rubber feet. It gets too hot, ass well there is a sticker warning installers about that. So far the Instant-On line of products works really well, the web ui and mobile application functions very well. Overall the product is great. Aruba is not advertising enterprise features that require alpha or beta revisions that be constantly updated or maintained. As well, there are no active licensing to access the Instant-On functions.Note: I work in the IT industry and have done so for over 12 years. I am an avid Ubiquiti user and I'm not bashing them. I am simply comparing features and being truthful.
