HPS Stainless Steel Spring Loaded T-Bolt Clamp 6.5"-6.81" (165mm-173mm) provides high strength and a 360 degree seal. The added spring is there to automatically adjusts the clamp diameter to compensate for the expansion and contraction of hose when temperatures or the pressure fluctuate. HPS spring loaded clamps are reusable. Design to meet or exceed industrial grade specification. The clamps has a floating bridge and rolled edges to protect soft hose. The lock nut has a nylon insert to prevent it from backing out. Tighten with a 7/16 inch socket wrench. The HPS constant tension t bolt clamps are widely used in the charge air cooler system (cac), aircraft, automotive, truck and heavy-duty vehicle, industrial, hardware/plumbing, and marine industries. So first: This thing is high quality - built with high quality parts!Second: I actually bought this for a very specific need: To cut large, 6" PVC pipes perfectly flat... and for that, it works perfectly! You just have to take the little lip part off though (that links the gap) - I've attached a picture to show what I'm talking about. Removed that little gap-filler with a flat-head screwdriver and some needle-nose pliers. This way you get a perfectly flush edge - perfect for sawing and sanding against.And when I say it give you a flat cut, I mean like... perfectly flat. I took a straight edge to it and could not see any variation in the cut. BY FAR the cleanest cut I've ever gotten on 6" PVC.Hope this is helpful to someone else out there :)
