Great option to replace before you go to the expensive compressor. Unfortunately, it didn’t work as my compressor is bad but i will keep this as mine was blown.

Small, inexpensive start relay KO’d my MagicChef mini fridge. Found this exact match at a great price. It arrived two days later. Installation took about 2 minutes and the refrigerator is back up and running.

This was the solution to my problem. My chest freezer stopped working. The compressor would try to come on for a couple of seconds, then turn back off. It kept doing it over, and over. I first replaced the capacitor, thinking that was the problem. I was on the right track, but the reason the compressor could not get the power of the capacitor, was actually because of this device. It's easy to diagnose. It just pulls right right off of the connector pins on the side of the compressor, then take a picture to put the wires back correctly. I read there is a ceramic disc inside that goes bad. Just shake it, and if it rattles inside, then the disc has worn out from heat. A new device will not rattle at all. Just put the wires onto the new device, and push it onto pins of the compressor, and problem solved. I've waited to see if any more problems came about, but everything is good. It's been running again for about a year. No more problems.

Worked well to replace the stock compressor relay in my soda drink cooler fridge. Although it wasn't the exact same shape as the old relay, the spacing of the main contacts were the same and a perfect fit. I feel lucky that I found a suitable replacement on my first try!

Easy to install. Saved my upright freezer from the scrap pile. Compressor was OK, just this part was needed to restart the compressor.

THIS IS NOT A "VINE FREE ITEM" REVIEW, IT IS A 'PAID FOR BY ME' HONEST REVIEWI thought THIS was the faulty part, but in fact it was the Overload that THIS attaches with. I ended up finding the CORRECT part PLUS this (a 2 piece kit) for about $1 +/- more (a different seller) and installed both of them to fix the issue. I am sure this would have worked IF it was the issue, because I hear most issues are this, but for the extra $1 I got a 2 piece replacement that worked. So if you can find a 2 piece set & since you are already changing "this" piece, you might as well change both. It was simple & easy. Although just this piece usually fixes the issue, it is not always the case.

My Igloo chest freezer, model FRF520, stopped freezing. The green and red light still came on and there was clicking noises. The freezer or compressor just wouldn't start past the clicks. After asking my brother in law and doing some research, he thought it might be either the compressor or the start relay. It sounds like the start relay for this model tends to be a problem. So, I took a chance and bought this start relay. I am a female with no mechanical knowledge and I fixed my freezer myself by replacing the part. The hardest part was figuring out how to get the old one out. You do not need to pull it off, you need to pop the clips off using needle nose pliers or a flat head screw driver. That is the one piece of information that I couldn't find online. The picture shows my old starter relay that is broken. It's been 4 days and my freezer is still freezing!

Didn't work for my fridge, but I was able to take the relay apart and use the ceramic disk to replace the old one in the original relay. This one had three plugs and mine only had two, so check your original relay. If it rattles the disk inside is broke and can be swapped out from this one. Much cheaper than buying a new fridge.
