We've tried 2 other brands at the restaurant and this one is still going strong after 1 1/2 years!

Pros:The main body is metalComes with spare fusesFairly easy to cleanreasonably quitFairly quietCons:The hopper, the base, and the grind adjustment dial are plasticThe grind is a bit inconsistent in sizeIt's quite messy with the fines and some of the grounds flying out onto the counterThe instructions could be betterIncluded is a picture of how I remedied the messy part. I used an old chipped coffee mug which is taller than the grounds container they provide. Also be careful the first time you remove the front to clean. Make sure you see how the locking pin goes into the slot. That's the little pin that they include on extra one in the small zip lock bag. The instructions don't show a drawing showing how it goes back together. If you pay attention it won't be a problem. Also, mine has a tendency to plug up if I fill the hopper more than about 1/4 full. If a need to grind more than an ounce or two I have to slowly pour the beans into the hopper if I want to avoid dumping the beans back out.Overall the grinder does a decent job. this is one of those times Amazon allowed half star increments. I would have given a 3 1/2 star rating. For the money this grinder is a good buy. The problems aren't a deal breaker as I was able to mitigate most of them.Edited on 15 March 2024: After tearing apart my old grinder and being able to fix it I was able to do a side by side comparison. That’s not completely fair as the old one cost about 4 times as much 15 years ago. That being said if I had been able to do that before I probably would have given this one 3 stars. But, the conclusion of my earlier review still stands. This is a decent grinder for the money.

This is the best coffee grinder I have ever owned. After going through several other top brands where the motor died out just after the warranty ended, I decided to try this little gem.It is super easy to clean by unscrewing the two Phillips head screws and removing the pieces and brushing it out. I don't know why other manufacturers don't do something like this. The grinder is super fine for espresso blend, and can be very fine tuned. The noise level is much less than other grinders that I have used, and it is super fast for one or two cups of coffee in the hopper. Much much faster than other top brands that I have owned. The motor seems to be very heavy duty, and the on/off switch feels very solid, and the motor is nice and heavy so I hope it will last me for years to come.

I love the vintage look of this little grinder. Out of the box, it needs a little work. First off, it comes with these small hard plastic feet. Get rid of those and add some large soft rubber feet. It’ll make less noise on your countertop and won’t “walk” around from the vibration.Next, take some fine sandpaper to the outside outlet of the hopper. A “brushed” matte finish is less prone to sticking than the original smooth glossy plastic. I also deburred the lip of the inlet port. Mine had a little burr that made it not only scrape the soft plastic hopper, it was also making it harder to remove as it would “bite” into the chute. I have deburring tools, but if you don’t, a smooth round file or some black sandpaper should do the trick. Just invert the grinder when doing it so the shavings fall away and not into the machine.I also wrapped several turns of Teflon tape around the threaded ball-bearing mount to get the “play” out of it. Simply remove the two screws holding the front plate (like you were cleaning the burrs) and turn the grind setting counter-clockwise until the bearing and its mount unscrew from the housing. The little step piston may fall out along with its little spring. Simply shove it back when reassembling or get rid of it all together. It doesn’t do much.Lastly, and most importantly, align the burrs. There’s several videos online showing how to do this. You want both halves of the flat burrs parallel so they allow you to grind more finely and uniformly. All you really need is a Phillips screwdriver, a fresh dry-erase marker, and some aluminum foil. After alignment, I was able to get a nice fine grind for espresso whereas before I had to sift the grounds before brewing. Who wants to waste time with that? Not a big deal if you plan to grind for drip, pour over, or French press coffee, but for espresso, you’ll save a lot of frustration and enjoy the grinder more by getting those burrs aligned. While you’re at it aligning the burrs, clean off the cheap sticky gunk used to lubricate the drive shaft and replace it with a good quality food-safe grease.

This thing sucks. Just buy an 8$ grinder at target. It’s fine grind is still giant chunks of beans that have to be ground down in a real coffee grinder

I was looking for something to grind pepper and rock salt. I burn through batteries trying to grind large quantities of pepper corns and rock salt I use for cooking.I want FRESH. I mix the two half and half and then put the mix into a shaker. This device is sooooooo good. I was shocked at how quickly this thing did the grind. The smaller the number on the dial the finer the grind. This grinder is AWESOME !!!!

This grinder is very sturdy, grinds quickly, effortlessly and is reasonably quiet. It grinds quickly even on finer grind settings. I've been pleased with it as per my grinding needs.
