We use this with our well water that is very full of iron. It helps filter the rust out when we add water to our pool and hot tub.

Our in-ground pool holds 26000 gallons of water, but there are times when we've had to drain some of it out due to various issues which sometimes plague swimming pools. Our water source is a well with high iron content. We've used other types of filters attached to our hose when refilling or topping off the pool with varying success in reducing the amount of iron going into the pool. This year, we used the Hurricane Filters" Pre-Fill Filter and have been very pleased with its performance. It was reasonably priced, easy to attach to the hose, and did a great job of filtering iron so there were no rust-colored stains on the pool liner along the sides or bottom surface. I definitely recommend this product to pool owners who wish to filter out undesirable particles when topping off their pool water.
