Needed to play with it a while to get it to spray smoothly and evenly, more so than with higher end sprayers, but at a lower cost, so, imho, worth it.Note that compressor quality matters too, you'll want fairly consistent pressure, but the gun moderates that a bit too, so nothing special, just don't expect your tire inflator to do the job.

I'm not a professional painter nor do I painter daily but I'm a hobby painter for automotive. I tested this sprayer before going "live" with base coat clear coat. After some small tweaking of the mixture of air verses paint it dialed right in, and i was able to achieve a very fine and light mist that laid down very nicely the cup held just enough paint to cover a small panel nice and smoothly. The function of this sprayer was just about as good as a much more expensive model and surprisingly maybe better in some regard. I dropped the pressure to 55ish p.s.i and ran at a full 9 cfm and like I said this did a really nice jobThe cleanup was just about the same as more expensive models nothing more difficult just time consuming but If you take time and cleanup carefully it just takes time to do it right. Overall not too shabby and yeah I'd recommend this for purchase it's pretty dang good and I'll likely get another so you could switch out if you need toValue wise not the cheapest but certainly worth the money.

Good as a beater gun. Used several times to spray heavy primer and worked great. Not a precision gun if you are looking for a good finish but if you want to unload a lot of product fast, this is your gun.

(First time using one of these)I dislike the cap on the paint tank just sitting in place, I'd prefer if it had a screw thread or preferably a snap like a old Mason jar to keep it in place.Comes with everything needed except paint an a air compressor... actually Comes with a few things I'm not even sure what are because I can't find a use and they weren't mentioned in the instructions lol.It definitely works and saves time / can paint some things that would be a lot harder by hand. I imagine I'll improve with it over time aswell, currently I mainly use it for objects with a large amount of surfaces where it would be difficult to paint it by hand and reach everything. I'm also hoping to try using it for polyurethane top coating etc but didn't get a chance to try before it got to cold outside to continue those types of projects.

It came with an assortment of nozzles, got this to spray primer and it worked well. I have some gel coat to spray and going to give that a try next.

I’ve seen inexpensive spray guns before. Generally, there are visible and touchable quality issues right off the bat. Not only that, but the kits also tend to be a bit lacking in one thing or another. Other than the finish on the gun itself, and some minor machining here and there, this kit doesn’t suffer from these issues.Pull out of the box the first piece, hmmm. The second piece, ohhh. The third piece, “hey, wait, I didn’t remember that it has 5… FIVE Needles”! And they’re not cheapies either. These are complete with matching, very nicely machined and finished fluid nozzles and atomizer caps, O-rings, everything! Off the top of my head, I think that the needles for my numero uno “G” gun cost as much each as this whole kit, which Is why I only have 3 for that one. I’m excited to try all of these to see what I can learn about different techniques. The trigger is almost always a weak link in a budget spray gun. Not this one. This sucker is smooth, it has great resistance (just right), and even after backing out the travel stopper (whatever it’s called) it is smooth all the way back. There’s also a pressure gauge with regulator, a big-ole’ paint cup with lid for up top of the gun, a brush or two for clean-up, and a piece of paper called instructions. Oh, about that… The box says, “Operating Pressure 50-70PS”. I’m assuming they mean PSI. Here’s the thing… the instructions call for a range of “2.5 to 3.5 bar” which equates with approximately 36.25 to 50.75 PSI. I suggest staying in the lower range for starters, but of course you’ll need to adjust pressure for your own set of variables. This brings up an issue, a potentially very big issue, depending on your personal perspective. This is NOT an HVLP gun as it says it is on the box. If it were HVLP it would max out its PSI capabilities around 10 PSI, it would also allow fitment of a way larger airline. So, is this a problem? Well, for me, I kind of guessed that already, and I was hoping for a medium pressure gun that I’d be able to run on my standard compressor to round out my shop’s capabilities. So, no, it’s not a problem for me, but I am compelled to deduct a star simply for the deceptive advertising and packaging practices. If I really wanted and expected an HVLP gun, I’d be totally upset, but, all things considered, for what it is, it’s pretty good - and I’m happy with it. It’s not a high-end German quality product, but It’s just what I wanted.I got to do some spraying yesterday, and after learning the settings ranges that worked, I got the pretty little blue gun to consistently lay down some decent passes. No Splatter, No wet spots, No voids, just smooth medium-light layers back ‘n forth, back ‘n forth. I had room in the adjustments to go up a bit, perhaps up to a medium-heavy layer, but It just felt like the gun was happy where it was. It was humming away nicely and smoothly. To achieve this (for me and my style), I walked the pressure up gradually from 20 to 25. Then 30, and finally 35PSI. I opened the air about 1/3 of a turn, the flow ¼ turn, and set the trigger range about halfway. I know this may not sound like much, but for me, it worked great. I did try higher PSIs, but I had a hard time keeping the splatters away.Anyway, I hope this helps you in some little way, and I hope something Great happens for you today!

I am not a professional painter of any kind – car, boat, house, etc., but I always have my hands involved with something. Sometimes it’s repainted woodwork, sometimes laying down Poly, more recently my son wants to touch up parts of his car. I bought a similar kit, less a lot of the extras and accessories, from Harbor Freight about 3 years ago. I used it about 3-4x per year and while it has worked, I don’t think I have been cleaning it well enough or missing areas. It still works but the trigger is becoming stick, the rotary areas feel gummy, one of the valves is sticking. I figured it’s time to replace it.While I haven’t yet used it, many of the main components look like the HF sprayer. I don’t know what professional sprayer part look or feel like, but the holes of the spray heads look uniform, the threading of all components appears clean and without hanging threads or misalignment, the linkage feels ok, albeit, I may great them if it’s possible. On top of that, it comes with a regulator so my current reg will go into a box for backup, and has 5 needles and nozzles. For my purposes, it comes with everything that I need. The only thing I’m going to try to do is see if I can replace the reservoir with a plastic one that can use disposable bags.
