In preparation for a very long airplane trip my 2 daughters and I were about to take, I ordered 3 of these medals as St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers. They have a substantial clip on them as they are primarily for a sun visor in the car. I clipped them on each of our backpacks. They are sizable and very pretty and they got the job done. I am glad to report we have returned home safe and sound!

My mother always purchased me a St Christopher's Medal for my car because he is the Patron Saint of Travelers and also the name of the grade school I went to. The only time I had any accidents either my fault or another drivers fault is when medal broke and was no longer in my car. Could be coincidence or could be St Christopher wasn't there to protect me.

I’ve been a nervous wreck ever since my teenaged sons have been driving. I am constantly worried. I’m not in control and in the Bible it says, “Do not be afraid,” 365 times. But still….I am. I’ve aged during these past years.Tonight we said a prayer to Jesus and added St Christopher into it for added protection when traveling. It doesn’t matter if a priest blesses it or moms and dads. It’s prayer and faith that God will protect us and others during our travels. There are no magical powers in any medal. I feel the need to explain this as a Catholic. I know many people think we pray to statues and medals. No…couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s a reminder of our faith and favors we have asked God for. The medals are just a reminder that God and His army of saints are watching over us and are with us. My grandma gave me a St. Christopher medal when I started driving and I still have it. Bought these for my sons and husband.

Patron Saint of Travelers, yes, but not everyone believes in the power of Saints. Either way, I just felt more comfortable having this in my vehicle because my Father carried one during his years in Vietnam and came home safe. I carried his during my youth after two accidents and a series of bad luck while traveling that nearly devastated me. After I carried the medal, I was safe, til someone I was dating borrowed it to go on a trip and lost it. My Dad was fine with it, said it must have gone where it needed to be, but I never felt the same until I replaced it. Now, it's on our visor. Thank you for listening. I'm not religious, but someone who likes to be safe. If a piece of shaped metal reminds me to buckle up, double check my surroundings, and to drive a bit slower than usual, it is worth it.
