You can apply the flux in two ways. Both of which start by cleaning the soldering surface, wiping away any dirt, grime, or oxidation to ensure that the flux can make direct contact with the metal surface, ensuring the best possible bond.
Method 1: Gather some of the flux onto a brush, apply it to the soldering tip or directly to the PCB, then apply the solder to the joint. After it's cooled, wipe any excess flux away.
Method 2: Open the puck container and directly dip a wire into it. Then apply a small amount of this flux to either the soldering tip or the PCB. Solder and wipe away as you would.

This is basically good stuff, no smoke and actually smells a bit like pine trees. Problem is some of it is HARD, too hard to be useful. I suspect it just might be old stock don't know but the "light" tub is too stiff to use and won't even stick to anything.

The flux is what you'd expect from STIRRI, the container on the otherhand leaves much to be desired.Edit: I got a replacement, heard a lot of good things about this company and they're spot on.

I needed some rosin to use while soldering up a couple of circuit board.I saw this can, noticed it was listed"mildly active", which I was looking for, and the price sinched the deal.Since then, I've soldered up several boards and have ample amount left to 100s more similar projects.Being mildly active, I haven't had over etching or oxidation.Gernerally speaking, nothing sexy or surprising, it's just good rosin.
