Planting Instructions:

Water, light and nutrients are essential for plant to grow. To have a successful experience with your hydroponic kit, please follow these instructions.

Start Growing

- Remove the lid, the band ring and the net pot(with wick and plug)from the mason jar

- Add 2 cups (16 oz) of water to the mason jar

- Place the net pot(with wick and plug) and the band ring back to the mason jar

- Leave the green circle plug cover on the growth plug for up to 7 days or until the seeds germinate. The plug cover keeps the plug surface moist which helps germination

Plant Food

Plant food is not included in this kit due to regulations. Recommend liquid plant food for herbs and vegetables available on Amazon. Follow instructions on plant food packaging to fertilize your hydroponic kit.

Watering

When water level drops below 8 oz (about 1/3 of the mason jar), add water to 16 oz (about 2/3 of the mason jar). No need to replace water

Light

Light is essential for plant to grow. If you have access to windowsill, put the kit on windowsill to get sunlight. Otherwise you can place the kit under LED plant-growing lights for 16 hours a day as substitute of sunlight.

Although I love the jars and black sleeves for soil, I had a lot of trouble with the herbs growing and maintaining health. I think more elaborate instructions should be included for how to take care of each herb according to its specific watering or sunlight needs. One plant died within a couple weeks; others are now also dying, and it has only been two months. Thankfully, I can keep the jars and sleeves, but next time, I’d rather just buy the seeds myself or a pre-grown plant from Kroger or Meijer.

Cool idea but doesn’t work. I’ve done plenty hydroponic and regular gardening so I wanted a kind of mix of both with this but each herb grew about an inch long then died.

These jars are so cute. The labels ruined after getting wet. The plants started growing at first, but then stopped. One of them got green moldy spots all over, the other two just never grew. We never got anything edible from them and I eventually let them die. I clearly do not have a green thumb. But the jars are cute and will make for a good craft at some point.

Absolutely love these hydroponic plants. Will order more. I have had these 2 months and they are so easy to care for. I use a plant food when I add water. I've trimmed them several times and dry out on a cookie sheet in the oven that was heated to 225 then shut off then store in a jar. There have been way less lady bug beetles and stink bugs in the house! The picture is missing parsley, she is in the guest room. Starting these led me growing some romaine lettuce in that little bowl in just plant food water!
