Love it. Great for our master bathroom remodel. It looks sharp. Gives a great look. A little costly, but that is because it is oil rubbed bronze.

A bit pricey, but very solidly built. But you are essentially paying 400+ dollar for 1 metal pipe. It does function as designed, I still think that for what it is the item is way overpriced. Think about it, for 400 dollars you can buy an iPad Mini, Smart Phone, PC, laptop, etc.. all that technology, and this is just a metal pipe...I would like to see other vendors making a similar items and give KOHLER some price competition.

Just installed this in my master bath to give me a fixed shower and a hand held shower. Typical Kohler quality. All metal construction. All accessories needed to install this Hydrorail in your shower are included in the box. Watch the Kohler installation video and you will see how easy this is to install. I removed my existing shower and installed this unit in less than 1 hour. Very well engineered. This solved a problem that could not have been solved without opening up my shower wall and refitting the existing plumbing to allow for the installation of a fixed shower and a hand held shower. Just check the Kohler web site to make sure you are ordering the correct Hydrorail for your shower. There are 4 different assemblies and 2 different designs depending on the space between your shower mixing valve and your shower head penetration and the height of your shower stall.

fairly easy to install after I watched the video on Youtube. I installed it in my shower in about 45 minutes and it works great! I would recommend this as a great item for shower retrofits

I installed this myself in a fairly new house in order to add a rain shower. It replaced my existing shower head / arm.The instructions are very good. However there are several spots in the instructions which warn that your installation location needs to meet certain criteria. I would guess that many installations locations might fail some of the criteria. Mine had 3 problems:1 - The elbow that the shower arm screws into was too close to the shower wall. I had to get a short adapter from Kohler. This is clearly covered in the instructions. Cost was $13 from the local Kohler dealer plus 4 days wait time. You will not know if you need this until you unscrew your old shower arm.2 - The mounting anchors provided by Kohler (which are very nice) require 1-7/8 inch clearance inside the wall to work. I did not have this at the upper connection where the shower arm was because the 2x4 that held the elbow that the arm screwed into was in the way. Unfortunately I had already drilled the 1/2 inch hole for the Kohler anchor. Fortunately I found an anchor in my spare parts that was suitable. I think this will be a common problem - be warned.3 - Kohler's instructions require that the hole for the shower arm be less than 1-1/4" and be centered. In my case the hole was bigger and not centered, which I suspect is not that uncommon. The problem is that if the hole is too big there is not room to drill the 1/2" hole for the wall anchors. In my case I ended up adding 2 conventional 1/4" dry wall anchors to hold the upper fitting. Unfortunately, due to the off center hole, I had to add these above and below the hole, rather than on the sides. This resulted in a bit of difficult screwing because the new shower arm, which runs up and down, was in the way when putting in and tightening down the screws. My suggestion - drill a 3/16 inch or so pilot hole to verify the depth needed for each of Kohler's 4 anchors. Recognize you will need stainless steel screws if you need to install your own anchors.Otherwise the shower arm is well built and works well.

The chrome is great, the diverter valve is very smooth and easy to turn, The installation hardware was not so good, I tried to use the provided hallow wall anchors, but the nylon breaks too easily. So I switched over to butterfly bolts. High quality, nice fixture.

This is a great way to transform an existing shower into a rain shower + handshower setup. The installation is pretty easy if you have a standard wall cavity (~4"). I do not so we had to improvise, but in the end it looks and works great. For a normal shower it should take an hour or less to install this device. The rail has a unique connector that slides right into a straight pipe in the wall elbow, and then anchors that mount the rail to the wall. Its pretty ingenious. Please note, while it may not be stated in the description, the selector level can be in one of 3 modes - Rain shower, hand shower, or both. Some other brands do not allow for both.
