I added the hygger Adjustable Flow Wave Maker (1500 GPH model) to my reef tank setup, and it’s been working flawlessly. It has just the right mix of power and control—strong enough to keep the water moving for my corals, but not so intense that it stresses out the fish. The 24/7 programmable mode is super handy, letting me set different speeds throughout the day to simulate natural conditions. The controller is user-friendly and responsive, and I love that I can fine-tune the flow depending on the time of day or feeding schedule. The included feed mode is especially useful—one button press and the pump slows down while my fish eat, then returns to the set schedule automatically. One of the best things about this wavemaker is how quiet it is. Even at higher settings, it runs with barely a hum. The magnetic mount holds strong, and the protective guard is a thoughtful touch to keep curious critters safe.Overall, this is a fantastic option for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. It’s easy to install, customizable, and performs reliably. If you're looking for a smart, silent, and affordable wavemaker, this one's a winner.

I am testing this in a 40-gallon well-established reef. I have been utilizing only my nero 5 and RFG nozzle. My nero 5 is able to outperform this pump in every category...however, the cost is over 250 dollars per unit. The pump is on the left side of the reef in the photo. For 60 dollars, this item is well worth the cost. It offers multiple flow modes and even a local time mode to vary the pump settings throughout the day. The day/night function is a bit useless unless you keep your controller facing the tank. I have my controller inside my sump, so it does not see any light. There is no wifi connectivity, the button is just to link a slave pump. The included anemone guard is a nice addition.Other than that, it is pretty adjustable. Its pivoting base allows the pump to direct flow upwards, which is what works best in my tank. It is rather powerful even on its lowest setting. The flow itself is quite narrow. My tank prefers a wide flow, so it's not the best for my application. The magnet sticks reasonably well through 6mm glass. It holds the pump but I don't know how much I'd trust it on thicker glass. It is silent during operation, I have not noticed any vibration even at high flow modes.I know I'm being nitpicky and comparing it unfairly. It does what its advertised to do and seems to do it well. For the cost, I think its a worthwhile budget pump.I would not put this in anything under 40 gallons. It is far too strong.Ultimately, I'll likely use this as a surface agitation pump and I'm confident it'll perform that function well. Time will tell how well it holds up.

Plastics are to be the bane of human existence for as long as we have left; these kinds of products aren't likely to be successfully remade from non-plastic materials, so we just have to deal with that, most things made from it I have to ding for a half-star but I'm exempting things like this because plastic is the only option. As far as being a wave maker and all that, it's obvious that it's functional and works as intended and expected. 60 bucks definitely isn't cheap but most of the better aquarium components are on the pricey side. This is going into service on one of my large tanks once it's up and in operation, it is less well-suited for my medium 20-30 gal. tanks mainly for space reasons - the way I set up my tanks there's 'stuff' on about all four sides - filter pumps, heaters, lights, platforms, bubblers - it doesn't take long and the top of a tank can get rather crowded with stuff; plus, I'm quite confident it will help to regulate temperature also.

This is a nice weight maker. I do like the gallons per hour. I wish they were a little bit more for being in a 150 gallon. Aquarium, the only thing that it feels a little flimsy. As the the cover that goes to protect the blades in the back from any fish food or feeders, i'm getting into it. I do like the manual control knob on it as well as the timer and the different wave functions is a plus.
