I had been driving with a check engine light for several months now. Since I had to go for an emissions test, I finally decided to have my codes read at Auto Zone. They said that I needed a new Oil Control Valve. Sounded scary and expensive. Did a quick search on YouTube that showed me the process to replace. Its one plug and one bolt. I think I can handle that! So I disconnected my battery ,(recommended to reset the check engine light) unplugged the power into the OCV, and took out the bolt. In the video, they just pulled out the old and put in the new but mine was kind of stuck in place so I took a screwdriver and gave it a light pry. I freaked out at first since the old OCV actually broke off but I simply grabbed some pliers and pulled off the remaining piece. Super simple! next I installed the new one and reconnected the battery. The check engine light stayed off for a week before I went in for my emissions test and passed with flying colors. This job was quoted online to be about $300 but by buying the part and installing it myself, I saved about $265. I LOVE SAVING MONEY!

On the 2012 2.0 L engine this item is located on the front side of the cylinder head toward the rear of the engine. Easy to remove and replace, and the price of this item was significantly less than other sites were charging. No problems after 4 weeks of driving.
