It's okay for a $40 keyboard. It does what I wanted it to do which is to be portable and enter midi notes. You have to know that the key press feel is disgusting though. I don't think the keys work with a hinge, I believe the resistance is created by the flexibility of the plastic. They just feel terrible. So I wouldn't recommend this for actually trying to play anything in real time. It's good for portable midi editing in a DAW that's it.

I bought this MIDI controller to enter musical phrases into notation software, and for that it works fine -- not bad for forty bucks. I wouldn't recommend using it for performance or recording or anything like that -- the action is too lame. The keys have some resistance, but it doesn't feel good like weighted keys; it just feels a bit stiff and mushy with little range of motion. Surprisingly, the keyboard has about four levels of touch sensitivity (louder if you play harder), and that feature works pretty well. The pitch bend is a bit over-sensitive in my opinion, and the modulation wheel didn't do anything for me (using Aria Player). So if you just want it to enter melodic lines into Finale or Sibelius or Garage Band, go for it, but that's about all I'd say it's really good for.
