Product Description

All New iBall 5.8GHz Wireless Trailer Hitch Camera

Do you enjoy going camping or taking your boat out on the water, but hate the long, annoying process of trying to hitch the trailer to your vehicle? Lining it up seems nearly impossible. You either need someone else there to guide you, OR you have to get in and out of your vehicle countless times to make sure you are lined up properly! With the all new iBall 5.8GHz Wireless Hitch Camera, all of those problems are a thing of the past!

Designed in the USA, the iBall Wireless Hitch Camera has been the original wireless hitch camera since 2009. It allows you to hook the trailer up the first time, every time. As an added bonus, it works with both standard and gooseneck trailers. To use, simply power up the camera using the rechargeable lithium ion battery, mount the iBall on to the back of your vehicle (thanks to the magnetic mounting), and you're all set. After you turn on the 3.5” color LCD display (powered by any 12v auxiliary outlet) you will be able to quickly and easily connect your trailer to the receiver hitch in seconds. This unit uses a 5.8GHz wireless transmission to avoid the 2.4GHz Bluetooth interference for a more stable and clearer viewing experience. Note: iBall is primarily designed for connecting your vehicle to trailer at slow speeds. On-highway use, while traveling at high speeds, may diminish performance.

Although picture is very clear, even through the back window of my trailer, the battery charge only lasts about 2 hrs. Not good for longer trips.

Gave as a gift to my Dad. He loves the plug and play. We charged the battery and were playing around with it in just a few hours. Night time looks great and day time as well. The screen is small but that is not a problem. He has a F250 long wheelbase and a 25ft. travel trailer and it works well with this setup. I took the camera 15ft. past the end of the trailer and held it in my hand moving it all around and he could still see what I was pointing at inside the cab of the truck. This will work great for hooking up the trailer by yourself and then when you get to your camping site your wife/ buddy can hold the camera by hand and show you whats going on while you back up. I found this worked better than just sitting the camera on the bumper. With your phone on speaker the driver can till the camera man which way to point the camera.I should of spent the money again on one for my truck but instead bought the little camera that mounts above the l. plate. I am limited to just hooking up the trailer and seeing where I am backing up into. This is the only con I can find with the iBall unit. You can't leave the camera attached to the outside while moving. So you have to mount it each timeyou want to use it.

I ordered this product on a Sunday night at 10:30pm. My prime membership gave me free one day delivery. When the order said it would be delivered the following day I was very skeptical. When it arrived by noon I was shocked. I immediately opened the box and got the camera on the charger (you need to give an initial charge of about 7 to 8 hours before first use). After my first use, I fell in love with this product because it is a huge time saver when it comes to hitching up. Anyone tasked with the job of getting things lined up (and without anyone else helping) is going to LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. I have shared the product usage with a few of the other folks in the lot I park my trailer and they too got super excited. Everything is wireless so you don't have to run any cables. I pop the camera on the back of the suv and point the camera straight down and I can instantly see when the hitch is lined exactly up. When parking, I place the camera on the back of the trailer and I can see everything behind me. (AWESOME!). My trailer is 10x6 (so the distance between the camera and monitor is not super far. I don't think this would work with a big rig...but a toy hauler sized trailer should be fine. The magnet is strong enough to hold the camera in place while backing up, but is not strong enough do drive around town with it (so don't try that). If you are looking to save lots of time, this is a must have product.

Great little camera, easy to set up. The monitor is very small, but once I put my glasses on it was easy to see. I bought this specifically for its designated purpose. Clear and dynamic colour for such a small product. I placed the camera on the back of my trailer and drove for awhile with it on.My trailer is 34ft and truck is 22. When the vehicles are in motion you will get some distortion due to bumps and uneven pavement, so its not really good to use as a regular review camera. Nice thing was that the view can be rotated to give you different aspects, and finally, both camera and monitor are easy to remove after hitching up. Glad I got this. Recommended.

This camera works very well with my 2002 Toyota Tundra and 26 foot travel trailer. I have a very clear view with the camera mounted on the back of my tailgate. It is important to mount the camera high enough above the hitch point to give a good view of both hitch ball and receiver on the trailer. I mount mine about halfway up the tailgate for best view.I have also tried mounting the camera on back of my trailer when backing into campsites. The reception at that distance is not as clear, perhaps due to distance and my aluminum siding, but still helpful.

Can not say enough good about this package, very pleased. I bought this to help when backing up to both my camper and boat hitch and it works perfect, strong magnet with adjustable camera angle, very clear image. Was a little skeptical from some of the reviews but have not had any problems whatsoever and very glad I bought it. The screen is a little small but for the price I can not complain, and the small screen is plenty sufficient enough for the purpose. I have also used for the purpose of pulling my dual wheel camper up on leveling blocks, simply place the camera on the ground pointing at the blocks and you can hit it perfect every time. Have also used when backing my camper in my driveway for use behind the camper to see how close I am to my house without hitting it. I first tried putting on the back bumper of the camper but the image was not good enough (29ft camper) however I set it on the block wall beside my garage/house and the image is very clear even from approx 40 ft away and works perfect, I'm guessing there is just too much metal between the camper and the truck to be able to receive a clear image when mounted on the back of the camper. I did not purchase with the intention of using on the back of the camper, so it was a huge bonus to be able to use on the leveling blocks along with backing up to my house. Highly recommend for the price. My only complaint I could think of was I felt it needed some kind of thin, soft material on the base to keep from scratching the paint of what you are mounting the base to, however I'm the type that is very picky about my vehicles and my truck is black and I attach it about 1/2 way up the tailgate, so I have been just putting a paper towel underneath it since I pull it right back off when I'm done. Plan to glue a small piece of cloth material to the bottom in the near future.
