The AEG, a compact body electric acoustic guitar with a slim neck has been well-accepted for its easy playability for more than two decades. Ibanez is proud to announce that the AEG series has been renewed with updated electronics and looks. The changes were based on the concept, “simple and easy control.” The AEG62 starts with a new preamp, an Ibanez AEQ-TTS. The small and simple preamp has only two control knobs, volume and shape. This at-a-glance tone control offers natural acoustic sound in the center position. It allows players to adjust the tone easily and enables them to go from low, fat and powerful tones to a bright and crispy sound while adjusting only one knob. A new easy-to-read onboard tuner with LCD(liquid crystal display) is located on the preamp. The AEG62 comes with a simplified rosette, a binding and ornamentation on the headstock. These finer details add a sharp and stylish atmosphere to the guitar. Other features include a Sapele top, back & sides, an Ibanez T-bar II Undersaddle pickup which equalizes the volume from each string and delivers a well-balanced signal, and special bulb-shaped Ibanez Advantage Bridge pins for easy string installation.

Not the color that was advertised was supposed to be mahogany glossy but instead I get a black one. Evidently Amazon doesn't know their colors

Absolutely gorgeous! It is smaller then the image in my mind. For some reason I thought I read it was a full sized guitar. It seems a bit smaller BUT I can’t return it because I love it!!! Feels good in my hands. I’m a beginner guitarist but picking her up, tuning her, then playing her for hours was magical. This guitar turned my arthritic amateurish attempts plucking away at the pentatonic minor scales like a seasoned performer. Damn, I love KATIEDID. (Named after my beautiful daughter RIP).

The guitar does not come with instructions for the amplifier or tuner, I still dont figure out what is it , I never make it work , I try all posible conbinations and conections , does not even tune it properly , also the acrylic coating brakes just with looking at it bad , also there is a weak spot right under the screws that cover the batery socket , if you strike the guitar on that spot, which is very likely because is at the bottom were the guitar rest you will surely brake the acrylic coating , and if you want to give it proper maintenance the guitar printout inside the box says that you have to ship it back to check republic or something like that , knowing all this I will not pay more than 200 for this guitar if I were to buy again.

Solid guitar, this is my first guitar so not the most discerning guitar reviewer. Nice craftsmanship, no issues so far. One thing I will say is while I do like the sound, the sound is pretty bright, or is stronger on the high end. Bass and fullness is a little bit lacking on this guitar compared to others. Good for some songs, not as good for others. Still enough bass and fullness to get by, it sounds nice and can still handle more low end songs, but something to be aware of.

The Ibanez AEG62 6-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Right Hand, Natural Mahogany High Gloss) is a great guitar. Great quality of workmanship and great sound.

I play every evening, with any one of an electric Ibanez Strat clone, a Gretsch hollow body electric, and this Acoustic Electric. The acoustic electric sounds great unplugged, and even better plugged in and amped and distorted. I changed the strings and adjusted the action when I got it, since the low e-string was buzzing. I went with D’Addario progressives from .052 to .01 low to high. Much better now! I love this guitar! Not too big, just the right size and with the cutaway those screaming high notes are easy to reach!
