I'm using this with a Fuji GFX100S II. I live by the ocean and do a lot of seascapes at sunrise and this is perfect for smoothing out the waves, shooting directly into the sun. The filter seems quality - it's made from real glass, not plastic. I'm not sure if the glass itself is tinted or if it's just a coating - the only way to tell would be to purposely scratch it, ruining the filter. There's a bit of a color cast but that can easily be handled in post. It's a bit extreme to be used often but it's nice to have in my camera bag when I need to have a long exposure when it's pretty bright out.

The 62mm optical glass neutral density filter with 16.5 stops by ICE / Desmond Photographic is likely in PRC (china). There is no country of origin mentioned or stated with the product or description. The ND100,000 is dark enough to be considered a solar filter for taking sun photos. I set my camera at F8 with this filter at about 1/500 shutter speed and I get sharp photos of the sun, but a 200 mm zoom, the sun is still a small portion of my frame. This has been an interesting filter to experiment with for daytime long exposures by the lake. I also appreciate the optical glass material. I will also mention I have to manually focus my camera, as the filter is so dark, I have not yet been able to get auto focus to lock in properly.4 stars

I’m very pleased with this filter, it’s made of real glass, not plastic or polymer. Real glass makes all the difference in terms of durability and image quality, and this filter delivers on both fronts. There’s no color cast introduced, which is impressive for something this dark (16.5 stops). "of course you need to correct for color the normal way you do with these type of filters" It’s a great, affordable alternative to the notoriously expensive LEE "Big Stopper," which I also own and costs about three times as much. Performance-wise, this filter holds its ground, and for its price, it’s a steal.Versatility and UsesThis filter excels in various scenarios. It’s perfect for solar photography, allowing you to capture a well-exposed solar disk with clarity. That said, a word of caution: never look directly at the sun through your lens, even with this filter. Always use your camera’s monitor screen to be safe. While the filter is incredibly dark and could likely work for direct sun viewing, a dedicated solar filter is the better, safer choice for that purpose.Beyond solar shots, this ND filter is a dream for long exposures. You can transform a bustling city street into what looks like a deserted scene or smooth out ocean waves to create a magical, waveless effect—all without the need for Photoshop.Build and CompatibilityThe 100mm x 100mm size is a standard that fits most popular holders, including LEE, Haida, and Cokin Z. It’s 2mm thick, sturdy, and easy to mount. The included plastic case is a nice touch for protection when you’re not using it.Value and ComparisonCompared to the LEE "Big Stopper," this filter is an incredible value. The LEE filter is excellent but comes with a hefty price tag that’s hard to justify when this performs so well. Whether you’re an enthusiast or a professional, this is a fantastic addition to your kit without breaking the bank.Final ThoughtsI love this filter. It’s versatile, durable, and performs exceptionally for its price. Whether you’re capturing solar shots, long exposures, or creative scenes, it’s a reliable tool that delivers great results. Just remember the safety tips for solar photography, and you’ll enjoy everything this filter has to offer. Highly recommended!

It's a nice filter for the coin being asked. It's made from aluminum, which is fine, but there are hardly any 'ridges' around the diameter. B careful you don't tighten this with too much pressure. It gives off a slight blue cast for the trade off of light transmission.Looking at the images provided, the exposure and subject are the same, but the the reds are saturated in a pleasing way. That's the blue casting, and it is visible in the background as well.So it is almost color cast free, but not all the way. I can live with it, especially at the price being asked.Recommended.

ICE has been producing great quality filters for years and this one is no exception. This is a ND 100000, which makes it very dark. Dark enough to allow you to photograph the sun! You absolutely need specialized filter glass to be able to photograph the sun, otherwise you'll burn your sensor. This will be great for any future solar eclipses. I ordered a 95mm so that I could use it on my largest lens and use a stepdown adapter to use on my smaller lenses.Great filter!

A well made 16.5 stop,100,000 ND filter. Makes ultra slow shutter speeds possible on the brightest of days! Great for water and other scenes. Good quality, and threads on smoothly. Labeling is clear, and easy to read. I use 77mm, with step up rings for my lenses. I look forward to using this more.

Man this thing is crazy. There's a HUGE difference in 16.5 stops. Shooting on a R6m2 with a Canon 28-70 F2 for the 95mm filter size I went from a base shot of Iso 50, F22, 1/5th of a second all the way to Iso 3200, F2, 10 seconds to get the same exposure. It's a MASSIVE change. The filter does have a pretty gnarly color cast, but it's to be expected when you are massively dropping the exposure that much. It's not anything that can't be compensated for though.Surprisingly my camera was able to auto focus on bright subjects with the filter on. Shadowy or unlit subjects it couldn't. It made me wish this was a magnetic filter over a standard screw in because it was really annoying focusing with it on or compensating. Even with exposure simulation the camera had a REALLY hard time simulating the exposure. While I find situations where this filter will be used probably extremely rare, there are some creative stuff that I'm excited about trying it with. Mostly using it with a 600w+ strobe.
