Full disclosure: I would rate this a 3.5 but can only do whole stars and I'm satisfied enough with this product to not lower it to a 3.Having a refrigerator that makes ice cubes but with no option for crushed ice, this little gadget does what I wanted: gives me crushed ice without turning my ice into a fine snow cone. The ice comes out a lot like the crushed ice you get at Sonic and Chick-Fil-A: not too fine but not super chunky either. While I'm personally not a fan of the crank in the back since it means having to rotate it to use it or even just check to see if I need to add more ice cubes to get the amount of crushed ice I want, it does allow the device to slide into narrower parts in my cabinet. From a usage perspective, it's not ideal, but from a space-saving perspective it was a good choice.I knocked off a star since usage really isn't as simple as the images advertising it make it out to be: cubes frequently get jammed and you have to fiddle with it to get it to crank again. Every time I use the device, my wrist feels a little sore though nothing a few good shakes of the hand can't correct. Only adding five or six cubes at a time helps but doesn't guarantee smooth crushing. However, the jams don't seem to warp or damage the device but I've only had it a couple of days. I may have to circle back in the future if long-term usage causes major issues.Overall, a solid product for the price.
