You might say it's "just an ice scoop," but not all scoops are created equal. We have been using a smaller, plastic scoop to transfer from the ice bucket to our cups, and while it does the job, it takes several scoops to get enough. This scoop does the job in just one pass.The base is wide enough to hold a good bit of ice, while the top is just the right size for fitting inside of cups and channeling the ice where it needs to go. One reason I find it so satisfying is that it reminds me of my childhood, when stores had bins of candy behind glass-fronted counters. The proprietor would scoop a bunch, slide half of the scoop into a bag and pull it out, leaving your candy in it's little brown bag.This scoop does get cold, of course, since it's metal, but even if you leave it in the freezer, your hands don't stick to the metal. And remember -- it's fast! The cold isn't a problem. :)

This is a nice solid ice scoop. It's heavy and the edges are super rounded and smooth.

This is a great ice scoop. It is made very well and looks very durable. We just got a new refrigerator, and it is such a better (and safer) way to get ice by using a scoop rather than using a glass. This scoop fits perfectly alongside the ice bin and works great to add ice to our cups.Very good product.

Good quality, high gloss scoop. Would buy another one if I needed 2 scoops. Reasonable price point, a no worry buy if you want one.

I am sure this chrome plated scoop makes a great ice scoop. But we got it to scoop expanded shale and potting soil for our plants on the back patio. it works absolutely marvelously for that purpose. whether you need an ice scoop or an adapted scoop to use for containers for plants on the back patio, this one works great! Recommended.

The product title changed at some point. It still shows as Ice machine with ice scoop on my end. This is a decent scoop. It’s a bit larger than I needed for my countertop ice maker. The edge on my scoop was sharp so it will scratch.

I was remembering those cast aluminum scoops we used in the restaurant business when I ordered this. What came is a good scoop, though not as large or heavy as them. It's lighter because it's stainless, not aluminum. The scoop part is a little bit smaller than I imagined but it is exactly as specified in the listing.The metal is not thick, not thin. Strong enough. I can move the metal a bit but holds it's shape and seems I'm not going to be able to deform it. Again, it's not impressively thick but not junky thin either. A good cost/utility balance. It's very finely polished and has a clean edge. Handle seems well connected to the scoop and the junction is impeccable. Can't tell how it's attached, but it's good. If you look at the listing's photos, you can notice they show an ugly connected handle in the first pic and then a much cleaner job in the third. What I got looks like the good photo.It is, however, a little short. Good quality, a little short. If I move my hand up and grab it with thumb inside, it's fine. That may be how it's meant to be used.For utility, this is going to work well for me as I want it for moving powders. I wouldn't mind more volume but it's enough. Holds 250 ml or just over a cup. Perfect for flour or sugar. For ice, I don't think it's quite big enough unless small cubes.Overall, it's a nice tool, well made, good materials and well finished. It's on the small side, mainly the handle but still a very useful general size if you can only have one scoop. I'd like to see a set of three for sale with this one being the medium size.

This is currently advertised as "Ice Machine with Ice Machine Scoop" in the category "Ice Makers" and yet all I received was a metal scoop.
