UV Protected

All RV rooftop components (skylights included) are subject to some of the harshest UV exposure imaginable. Vacation days under the sun can cause immense damage to these components. Damage can then be compounded by cracks allowing water to intrude and cause further damage!

At ICON, we take pride in crafting skylights that are equipped with cutting-edge UV protection. Our skylights are constructed using premium polycarbonate material, designed to resist the harmful effects of UV rays. This UV protection ensures that our skylights remain robust and resilient, preventing brittleness and leaks that often plague originally installed skylights over time.

With any of ICON’s color options you can know they are UV-protected. White, Clear or any of the Smoke options have material that is protected. Nothing is worse than having a nice viewport become hazy, yellowed and less aesthetically pleasing due to UV damage.

Heavy Duty

Nobody wants to have a vacation cut short due to a very vital component such as your skylight failing. Skylights are not only exposed to sunlight and UV, but they can also be subject to intense weather, hail, tree branches and other such impacts. This is why ICON uses a THICK polycarbonate material that results in domes that have unmatched impact resistance.

Beyond material, important design considerations have been made to improve the durability of ICON skylights. Simple, but meaningful trimming is done to prevent flange lifting and to create an effective surface to seal to the RV roof. Pre-drilled holes are provided on the flange for most models. These holes are enlarged to allow for expansion and contraction at the mechanical fastening point.

The quality and design around ICON Skylights are a very important consideration when replacement is needed. It's not just about enhancing your RV; it's about safeguarding the essential components that make all RV journeys possible.

Person installing an RV skylight

Quick Installation

ICON RV Skylight domes redefine simplicity in installation. Whether you're a seasoned RV enthusiast or a first-time DIYer, you'll appreciate the user-friendly design that makes the process a breeze. With ICON's Skylight sealant and screws (sold separately), you'll have all the essential components at your fingertips, eliminating the need for additional materials.

The quick and easy install of ICON Skylight domes begins with a hassle-free setup process. First, prepare your roof surface by removing the old or damaged skylight, ensuring a clean and smooth base for the new dome. Then, apply the specially formulated ICON Skylight sealant generously around the opening where the skylight flange will rest. This sealant not only creates a watertight bond but also simplifies the installation, allowing for easy adjustments. Next, carefully position the dome over the prepared opening, and secure it in place using the screws.

With ICON's flange and pre-drilled attachment points, you'll find that achieving a snug, but expansion capable, fit is straightforward - even for those with minimal DIY experience. The end result is a robust, leak-free skylight that's ready to enhance your RV experience. ICON RV Skylight domes are all about hitting the open road without unnecessary installation hassles, ensuring your RV stays in tip-top shape for your next adventure.

I purchased this sky light to cover the hole left by the broken Dometic Heki skylight on my truck camper. It was the perfect size and install was a breeze. It’s been installed for 5 months now and is holding up great. But we will see how it lasts over time.

This skylight was for a 1995 Fleetwood Motorhome. I did a lot of searching but could never find the exact replacement skylight, so I settled for this one. It was a couple of inches longer and a couple of inches wider than the OEM part but it didn't matter because it was going to be on top of the motor home where no one could see it. I wish it were a little higher because now the opaque inside skylight that fits in the ceiling in the shower won't fit back up into its hole. It's convex in shape and the dome hits the new skylight. So I'm just going to have to trim it out with some cedar wood or something that looks nice. I used stainless steel screws to attach it to the roof of the motorhome with a bead of self-leveling caulking applied first, then the Skylight laid on top of that, screwed into place, and then a very generous bead of self-leveling caulking around every screw and all along the edge of the new Sky light. There are lots of great videos on YouTube had to do this.

Quality product, predrilled holes, smoke tint found me trying to figure out how to get additional shading. Thought about "over spraying" with spray paint from the outside to increase opacity. Wife says, "Don't do it". I'll figure out something to control overheating. Still, great price, great quality.Putty tape and stainless screws for installation not included. I suggest align putty tape with outside edge so it is well back from the inside (exposed) bend. I ran it down the middle, and as the putty has heated up and spread, I've got some areas with putty oozing on the inside where it can be seen. Did need to use some Eternabond strips to bridge the rough roof surface left by the non-RV adhesive some bonehead used last time. Ended up using an oscillating tool with scraper blade, but still gouged the rubber roof in places, and somebody used a utility knife to remove a past skylight and cut through the rubber roof along one edge (Eternabond will keep that area together FOREVER).
