Exactly what I wanted. Great simple product that adds extra security for basement windows. Can’t be too safe these days with break ins and crime out of control regardless of where you live.

En 3 de 10 ocasiones me he hospedado y las habitaciones, su puerta (terraza) y ventana corrediza no tienen seguro. Me a costado trabajo asegurarlas. Con esta barra de seguridad para ventana chicas si sirve. Ya no batallare si me vuelve a tocar otra habitación con ventana descompuesta. Es facil de transportar. Ya compre otra barra más grande para puerta.

I should have just cut an old hockey stick to fit.Poor design. I have a very common window that is sold at Lowes and this will NOT fit properly.All the issues listed in the 1 star reviews are true.Though I don't have a three-year-old i'm willing to bet my buddy's two-year-old could undo it.It at least shows someone outside my window that there is a locking mechanism.I'm Too lazy to pack back up and return it.I should have believed the one star reviews.

This bar is made of aluminum with sharp corners. To use it correctly you need to drill holes in your brand new windows. I decided to just lay it at the bottom. Doesn't quite fit in the slot but should work. Better off to get an adjustable type similar to a shower rod, with the rubber ends. I only got this because this is the only one that fits in less 16" opening.

I purchased this for our sliding glass door as we had to insert a dog door into the open space, which made it difficult to properly lock our door. Many of the securiyi bars similar to this one, were all too big for the space so this one does fit the space perfectly. It is a fairly decent product for the price, however, my one complaint is that the only directions that came with it were in French.
