Seems to work but haven't tested it for long. I was confused by the extra pigtail wire but found out it's for a backlight. You can put a ring terminal on it and connect it to the switched (in my case the negative) side of your key switch. When you turn your key on the gauge will backlight.

I found out that my tractor doesn’t have a place for the water temp gauge. I would really like to return it since I can’t use it.

Well so the as sells it for a 8n ford and in fact there’s no place to go to on a 8n where the sending unit can fit so you’ll have to do the ridiculously tacky “tee” in the top radiator hose or do what I did and cut a hole in the radiator and weld a bung in so I can insert the sending probe in to use the gauge
