So they stole my 2011 Elantra and few months back and smashed my ignition off, breaking clips still attached with screws to the shroud as well as cracking the cylinder. Digging with a screw driver in the ignition for months (this is how I had to start my own car) resulted in needing to replace the entire housing. This item does not list my vehicle but just by looking at it, I knew it was what I needed so I took the risk and ordered this one. It is exactly what I needed, I wish it listed the 2011-2016 elantras (and whatever other models it fits in) because I'm sure people who would buy this item move on from it because their vehicle isn't listed. Any way, I like that it lights up, my original one did not. It went in pretty quickly and easily. My boyfriend used a hack saw to cut notches into the existing bolts in order to remove them, the ignition comes with 2 new bolts. Other then that I didn't see installation because everything gets messed up if I hang out. It took less then an hour, he wasn't mad and it works great! It's kind of weird that the keys are square at the end, sometimes the key doesn't go in easily because of it. Not a big deal, it makes it take an extra one second at most. I was considering shaping the end because that would make it go in easily but I'm scared to regret it. As for the door lock not being the same, I can not comment because after first theft attempt we permanently put a screw into the door lock. The successful theft after that though they opted to smash the window so didn't matter. In any case, I do not use the key for the locks any how, so this isn't an issue for me. Very happy with this product! It feels so good to have a normal looking ignition and start my car with the keys again!

Although removing the old ignition switch took some effort, the replacement part was a perfect fit and remarkably easy to install. It conveniently came with everything required to get my vehicle operational again. This new switch worked wonderfully, resolving the frustrating issue where the key would intermittently fail to turn. Now, the ignition operates smoothly, the key turns freely, inserts and removes effortlessly, and the car starts without any issues.
