Fits my vehicle perfectly. After watching a YouTube video or two I was able to change the part out myself. No issue when installing.

The ignition switch housing is a common failure point on 2008-2012 Ford Escapes. If you have to push your key in further or turn it further to start your car, you need this part.Be forewarned this did not come with printed instructions. Thankfully, there are several very good YouTube videos that will take you through the procedure. You will have to remove some trim panels, but you can do it without removing the steering wheel. I would call the procedure involved, but not difficult. This replacement part fits perfectly and works. The manufacturer says it has "thicker and stronger" internals...hopefully that's the case, buts in way too soon to know. A 12 month warranty is offered and the manufacturer, RLP, does market a number of automotive parts.

Did not have instructions outlining instructions. Also did not include security bolt. (NonsenseKnowHow) has the best You Tube video for installation.

This is the second China produced one of these I have purchased. Both of them, by different companies, have had the same issue. When you turn the vehicle off, remove the key, and open the door, the door chime dings constantly. I had this second one installed by an ASE certified mechanic. While it does function correctly in terms of starting the vehicle, the issue just described is an obvious flaw in manufacturing. It is shows that you get what you pay for. If you pay a low price for a Chinese manufactured auto part, you will get a low-quality product.

I replaced the ignition switch on my sister and dad's cars both 2009 Ford Focus because of the common issue of having to sometimes turn the keys a few times to start the car over a year ago. I now own my sister'sFord Focus and the switch is still good but the switch on my dad's starting to have issues again. I went to replace this switch again only to find out that the plastic metal piece broke from the housing which the ignition switch connects to. So I had no choice but to order the housing unit. The housing unit actually comes with the ignition switch already bolted on so that was excellent. I could have just ordered the housing for about $20 more than just the ignition switch alone. In any event, if you want to install on your own, there are a few Youtube videos that will show you the steps as their are no instructions included. This came with the replacement security bolt as well.I like the challenge of working on cars and doing things on my own so I did the whole install myself. Yes there will be frustrating moments when your putting everything back together so you will need some patience to finish the job. You will be re-installing your current ignition cylinder in the new housing as well so you don't need new keys or reprogramming. My dad's very happy with the result and the ease of starting his car without issues.
