I have the pants to go with the top. These are very nice and comfortable. Seem to keep the wind out better than polyester elastic blended materials. I also can wear this as a base layer or an outer pull over

This is a great outer layer, over a t-shirt, tank-top, or long sleeve. Sizing is loose but not baggy, not a snug form fit. Truer to former USA manufactured apparel for men before everything went overseas. Collar is more of a turtle neck finish when fully zipped.

Bought this shirt to wear on cool evenings this spring. Good quality, fits well (I'm 5'9", 150 pounds) - a little longer than I thought it would be, but not an issue overall. Great price point for such a nice long-sleeve merino wool shirt. Should be a solid addition to my wardrobe. Recommend.

The real test of a wool base layer isn't just around comfort (though this shirt is VERY comfortable) or warmth (though it is VERY warm), but also about SMELL: a good wool base layer should be suitable for wearing, without washing, for 3-5 days of all-day (or even 24/7) usage, while hiking or skiing, climbing, carrying firewood, and so on. Wool should require about 80% less washing than corresponding products from popular synthetic materials, because it is naturally anti-microbial--- you should be able to sweat in them, grime them up, without smelling like an ox by the end of a single day. Part of the value in wool products is in how much water you save NOT washing them after just a few hours of use.I wore this shirt for 4+ days, during which time I shoveled snow, chopped kindling, carried armfuls of firewood, tended a fire outdoors hot enough to render bone to ash and melt pewter for pouring, and through this time, I only took it off for sleeping. From waking til the end of my day, I wore it each day, and it NEVER picked up a malodorous air--- it didn't smell, stink, reek, at all!Through that time it performed well: true to fit, comfortable all day, zero itching. It went well under dress-shirts, work-shirts, nice wool knits, and warm winter top coats. I also tested it over an additional base-layer (sleeveless undershirt, also merino) and they performed well together-- no slipping, bunching, rubbing. This is a great shirt.

I don't really wear wool clothing. My last experience with wool was when I was a child and my mother made me wear wool sport coats to church (yeah, I'm GenX and this was in the 70s). From what I recall, I hated wearing wool. It was thick and scratchy. What got me to try this Iguana Men's Wool Base Layer Long Sleeve Top was that I live in a cold climate, and I remember how hot the wool sport coats I used to have to wear were. When I received the Iguana Wool Top, I was totally surprised how thin the material is. It actually feels about the same thickness as a good quality cotton shirt. The other thing that shocked me was that there was absolutely no scratchy itch. While the shirt doesn't feel as soft as a nice quality cotton shirt, it comes very close. The fit of the shirt was also very nice. I am 6'1" and weigh around 160lbs. Because of my height, I always have to purchase at least large size shirts. The large in the Iguana Wool Top fit very well. The sleeves were long enough for me. This is something that usually falls short on some other shirts. I have pretty long arms and quite often shirts fall just a little short. Not the case with the Iguana. The sleeves are long enough that even when I am reaching for things, the sleeves stay at my wrists. Additionally, the shirt almost feels like it is tapered at the bottom. Usually, large shirts can be baggy around my middle. The Iguana Wool Top actually fit nicely around my mid-section. The shirt is very form fitting. For being as thin as the shirt is, it is still quite warm wearing. This morning, I was out in 10-degree F weather, and I felt quite comfortable wearing this shirt and a light jacket. While the shirt kept me warm, I never felt stuffy or sweaty in the shirt. It seemed to allow my skin to breathe while keeping me warm. The only negative thing that I can mention about the shirt is that the collar did not want to lay right occasionally. I found myself having to correct the collar a couple times. I don't think that this is a huge deal as I believe that this issue will correct itself as the shirt is worn and laundered more. Overall, I think that this an excellent stylish wool shirt to pick up to wear through the cold winter months.
