The strobe is built into the bulb in the most updated version of this product. So it wasn't missing from my order. It looks pretty good. Customer service replied very quick.

I knew the JDMTOY Flashing Red LED Rear Brake Lamp Conversion Kit was just that, a bag of pats and some instructions. I had hopes for the JDMTOY instructions and videos but they were vague and not complete. The instructions I got were only to splice in the LED light as the 4th break light, nothing about the strobe flash unit. JDMTOY has a video for that, though somewhat vague but enough to figure it out once I got the LED cable spliced in. YouTube videos buy people who spliced in the Led as a break light helped a lot.I spliced in the led cable ends into the driver side tail light after removing it as follows: Black wire (GND) to black. Red wire (tail light) to red wire and Blue wire from the LED cable to the Green wire on the tail light harness. The last one was described in a customer YouTube video.Once the LED harness end was spliced into the harness ant the tail light, the Led can be dropped down through an opening in the bumper and run along the bumper and black air splitter to the middle light fixture. FYI, the instructions circular cutting drill bit worked fine.I decided to not connect the LED to the tail light wire. I wanted the middle light off until I used the brakes. So instead of a plashing Fog light the unlit light would suddenly flash bright. I felt this was much more noticeable when breaking. I was not concerned about a rear fog light.I decided to place the strobe unit about a foot or so to the driver side of the middle light fixture on a flat spot on the inside of the bumper. The OUT side of the Strobe unit gets spliced into the LED side of the cut cable. Black to Black (GND) and White to Blue (Brake Light). There was no mention of a white wire in the instructions or JDMTOY video! But this was a simple thing to figure out. The IN side of the Strobe was wired to the tail light side of the LED harness. Black to Black (GND) and Red to Blue (Brake Light). After testing the light after each step of the way (important) the strobe worked as I wanted it to.All in all, even with the poor instructions, there was a great deal of satisfaction in gutting the strobe working on the fourth brake light.

Easy to install. Only problem was the strobe module’s plastic casing was attached backwards (out showed as in and vice versa) easy to check the issue by looking for which color wire it says it is. Very simple install, no vehicle specific instructions but you can just check YouTube for a guide.

Garbage product with garbage instructions from a garbage company. Don't waste your time. Followed the instructions and all it does is flash with my turn signal. Tried to rewire it, now it doesn't turn on. Just gonna throw it away

We attempted to install, and the base socket is a very poor quality plastic. The LED bulb would not stay in contact. When the bulb was removed, one of the 4 contact wires fell out. It appears to only be glued in place. Extremely disappointed considering the time spent to remove numerous panels, only to have the install fail! I have not contacted the company yet, but not impressed...

Fast shipping, very cool product, bulb didn’t work but replaced it with an led from Canadian tire (slightly different style) but works great. Takes a bit of work to get the socket to fit in the housing. Would be cool if it came with a template of what parts of the plastic need to be removed. Hole saw it comes with broke as well. All in all though I’m pretty happy with it.

Look for instructions online. Not an exact fit with the supplied drill bit, but with a little finesse you can make it work. You will have to file down the edges of the socket in order for this to fit properly. Definitely a must buy mod for your BRZ/FRS/86.

I agree with the other review, it came with a slightly too small hole saw and no instructions. Even the YouTube video referenced only shows the wiring instructions, not the hole install.Overall, cool that this is even out there, but needs a little more attention to detail for 5 stars.
