This little drill bit has a lot of potential and is just the right size for some very precise carving/shaving. Works on an assortment of materials, including smoothing out sharp glass edges

I received this product in exchange for my honest review as part of the Amazon Vine Program. Seller Brand: ILOVETOOL lists this as "ILOVETOOL Diamond Mounted Point 16mm CONCAVE CYLINDER Head Jade Carving Tools". This is a light duty plated diamond grinding tool that has a concave 16mm profile. (Pictures 1,4). The end is not fully covered in diamond grit, see Picture 2.All diamond grit bits MUST be used with water to lubricate the bit and cool it. This is to carry the grindings away and reduce wear on the tool. I find that using non-hardening Plumber's Putty to build a dam around the surface being ground works well if you cannot direct a steady stream of water onto the cut or cut underwater in a shallow container. NEXT you MUST know that this will "grind" slowly the glass or rock and does not "cut" like a toothed burr will in wood or metal. The diamond grit is plated in a thin layer to the outside in this tool; much more costly versions use a thicker sintered diamond layer. Excess pressure will strip off the plated diamond and damage or render useless your diamond bit - slow and intermittent light pressure allows water to contact the surface and carry off debris being ground. As this bit is cylindrical using a drill press won't be necessary. Remember to utilize hand and eye protection as glass and stone chips can seriously injure you. Safety First!Recommended for light duty stonework.

I remodeled my bathroom and removed the old frosted glass doors. The glass is still in really good shape so I wanted to cut it down and use it for two sliding doors for the bathroom cabinet I'm building. I know how to cut glass but I have never polished the edges so I wasn't even sure what I needed. I did a little research and found this tool. I was able to mount it on my drill and and run it across the edges. It took a while to get the edges smooth enough then I did the rest with an emery cloth. For a tool I didn't know I needed, this worked great.

My wife recently picked up stained glass as a hobby. I got this but to compliment her grinder set up. It works well and leaves a great working edge. Not an angle she will be using all the time but when she does, she has a great tool. Bit holds up well so far.
