Looks and feels sturdy seems to be a good buy. I will do another review in a few months to tell about its effectiveness.

I appreciate the intent of this product but this type of design just does NOT work effectively. Not only do these EASILY break, but it's very difficult to get them far enough into the tube to create a tight seal. Also, the design of these means that the tops of these stick up higher than the tubes themselves so they don't seem to fit into my cabinets very well either. I would skip this design and go for the ones that expand like a balloon over the tips of your caulking tubes instead.

These caulk caps do work, however, I've had a few issues with these. First, I've broke quite a few of those easy-grip handles, where the ridged body is at, that plastic is quite brittle and those areas with the ridges are breaking fairly easily, especially in the thinner area. The other issue I've faced is that thin long shaft broke off inside the caulking nose at the very first thin ridge lol So yeah it is ether handle breaks for me, or the shaft breaks inside the tube. But hey your results may vary... But yeah I will be using a different type of cap, once I break all the left over plugs lol

This should work in any tube, large and small, to close off the hole from air drying out the material inside

I've seen and used a variety of solutions to preserve caulk. This one is the best so far. The idea is quite simple and addresses the number one issue for sealing. That is 'how do you make a reusable seal that adjusts to whatever size tip hole has been cut. This product does it quite elegantly, by using a graduated series of oval plastic rings cast into a single insertable piece. Just shove it in until the ring is tight enough to seal your tube when pushed just through the nozzle size you've cut. Wipe off the excess, you're done. I put a piece of electrical tape around mine for extra security - so it doesn't get bumped out of place, but this is not really necessary. I just did it to go the extra mile because I don't want caulk explosions and messes in my cabinet. These are a great idea, and the price is right when one considers that an average tube of decent caulk can cost quite a bit these days. IF you save even two tubes of caulk, you've paid for them. Everything after that is gravy.Highly recommended - a sensible, well designed, ane very effective product for preserving caulk in partially used tubes.Five stars.UPDATE - May 20204. I used one of these caulk savers in a large (28 oz.) tube of sound rated caulk. (FWIW, that's the BIG size tube, not your typical box store small tube - so it is a lot of caulk)When I opened that tube about six months ago, I only needed a few oz. from this tube so I was really hoping to save it, so i used this caulk saver.Well, I just took the tube out and used it again. Removing the caulk saver tool was very easy and the caulk flowed immediately and smoothly from the very first pump. Bottom line - after six plus months in the cabinet, the caulk is as fresh as the day I first opened it. This is a latex based professional grade sound rated caulk. So, just an update to demonstrate that these really do work - certainly on latex based caulks. Next trip around will be solvent based caulks, which are notoriously hard to keep fresh.Standby for another update in a few months...

These have been great to hang on to used caulk and adhesives. I had been using a large nail, electrical tape, the little rubber caps and none seems to work for very long. These caulk saver plugs have been great so far, easy to install and remove. Looking forward to not wasting so many half full tubes.
