These are okay for smaller, lighter items like flat-ironed, blocked and starched quilts, silk mandala tapestries, et. al., but not quite user-friendly for larger pieces like crocheted afghans, woven goods, etc.I tried hanging a 4'x8' woven cotton tapestry with them, and I ran into more than a few problems.Here are the negatives I found with these:The installation instructions are lacking detail, and that posed a few problems when I went to hang my vintage piece.First, the included screws aren't long enough to sink firmly into drywall or plaster.The screws protrude just enough to grab wallboard/drywall, but there's not enough screw left over past the 1/2" depth of drywall to firmly catch a wall stud.The thought behind using a keyhole design for mounting might seem okay, but it ended up being fairly useless.I had to anchor a backing board on my wall to prevent the keyhole/screw post pieces of the clamps from sliding sideways when attaching the fronts.They scratched up my wall.Because there's no nylon (or other material) washer between the knob and its mating surface, the entire assembly turns clockwise and doesn't stay level (unless held FIRMLY in place).So, in order to avoid that, the backing portion needs to be firmly anchored to a wall.If not, the entire assembly (including quilt, tapestry, etc.) tends to swing inward, causing sags between the holders (please see final hanging photo).If you have something solid to screw the assemblies to (wood, hardboard, paneling, etc.) they're okay for light duty use.*Assembly and hanging note: It takes planning and precise measurements to work with these.As far as the workmanship and quality of manufacture, I wasn't too impressed. You can see chips and splinters that were stained and lacquered over. It's visible up close, but they look fine at a distance.The clamping takes quite a bit of force to hold a piece in place. Once it's locked in, it's fine, but as I mentioned earlier, if the backing plate isn't anchored firmly to the wall, the entire assembly rotates when affixing the hanging piece.Again, okay for light pieces, but be prepared to do a lot of precise measuring to make these work. And maybe get some longer screws to ensure a solid mounting.

These hangers are very nice. Look good on the wall and holds my quilt securely with only 3. Putting them up takes a little effert, but it is worth the trouble.
