This unit is reliable and response time to your remotes is fast. Great option for when your AV components are behind your seating area in the theater, or if you put them in a rack or closet out of view. Highly recommend this if you're wiring up a room from scratch and can pull one more cat 5 cable from the front of the theater to the AV rack area.

I loved this when I first got it. Now it only works intermittently with my Panasonic Blu-Ray player (about 85%). Other users have complained about using this system with Panasonic products, so it's possible the IR system isn't the problem.

Used this for about 18 months until we switched things around. The performance is flawless, setup is dead simple: Make a hole or two, take a bit of Ethernet cable and match the color of the wire connected to the front to the respective port on the back. choose if you want always on light or command activated by plugging the power cable into one of the two receptacles on the backplate, Screw into place and done.Really a fantastic product.

Excellent product. It works very well. The only issue is that they did not supply surface box and suggested to fix on any electrical surface box, whereas surface boxes of standard makes like Schneider would not suit.

I was looking over some of the reviews of this product, just to see if I was the only user that had an issue with it. I purchased one the the in wall I/R Remote control units in May of 2014, it worked like a charm for about Eight months, then for no apparent reason it stopped working completely. I replaced the batteries in all of my remotes, that did not solve the problem. I called the manufacture of the product for tech support, which got me no where. I made an attempt to have it exchange with amazon. LOL did not get far there either, they said it was past the return date. So I foolishly bought another one that did not work as well. I would suggest staying away from this product!! still trying to get the new one to work :(

The power supply was DOA. I replaced that and the IR extender worked for the better part of 3 days. Then it quit. I trashed it and bought something else. I would say stay away.

I installed this in my home theater and it worked perfectly to control a Directv Genie receiver, Yamaha AV receiver, and Panasonic 3D DVD player with a Harmony 1 remote. I would have given this 5 stars if I had written the review right after I installed when it was working perfectly, but after about 2 months the DVD player stopped receiving the signal. I switched out the transmitters and placed them directly in front of the IR receiver on the DVD player, but still didn't work. The DVD remote and the Harmony one remotes both work when pointed directly at the DVD player but as this equipment is hidden in a component cabinet, going to the cabinet defeats the purpose of having an extender. Can't figure out how to make the Panasonic work consistently and I even changed out the batteries in the remote to make sure that it's getting adequate power. This is a great product if you have a projector or ginormous screen with all of the connected gear hidden away, but this one device is just not working. My next option is to replace the Panasonic with another brand 3d DVD player unless someone can send me a better solution.

We built our home almost 4 years ago, and included an electronics component closet in our home. The idea was to have all stereo and home theatre components hidden in the closet with only a flat screen TV in the living room to minimize clutter. At the suggestion of an electronic tech, we installed CAT5 from the closet to a point in our living room and master bedroom. At that time, we were unable to find a product to complete the connection using the wire. We tried several wireless solutions without success. We recently stumbled across this product on Amazon, installed it, and WOW! this IR repeater works flawless. If you are willing to run the CAT5 wire, this product provides polished and professional aesthetics and execution in operating the remotes to your home theatre system.I LOVE it!!
