I use this thermometer on my deck. The temperature readings are accurate to my digital thermometer. The blue background is pleasing. You should mount it out of direct sunlight. Direct sunshine will cause it to read warmer than the actual temperature.

This is a small sized thermometer we're using in our garage to monitor the temperature (about 1/2 the size of most outdoor thermometers). We're able to walk up to it to read the numbers and so far it is accurate compared to our heater/thermostat. It is colorful, printed with quality in mind, and looks nice.

When I read 10" thermometer, I was imagining it more like 16" in my head. My fault.I needed to mount this on the rails of my deck outside. I got the "colorful" blue version, and agree the numbers are hard to read from more than 12-15 feet away. I ended upwriting some of the main temp markings on the white plastic bezel with a black Sharpie. That worked. I can see the temp at a glance now. The needle shows up fine.ALSO this thermometer is NOT "self adjusting". After 2 days outside, it was still 7 degrees off.So I got a small flat head screwdriver and adjusted the center adjustment screw which is fortemp. The bottom adjustment screw is for the Humidistat. Now it's dead on!All in all, I like it. Going to keep it!

This thermometer is OK, but nothing special. It is smallish at 9.75 inches in diameter. It is plastic and very light. No batteries needed, which is nice. It was off by about 8 degrees on arrival, and the instructions said to put it into the fridge for 5 minutes to recalibrate it. That didn't work. There is an alternative manual method, but of course that means you need an accurate thermometer to compare it to. A flathead screwdriver in the upper hole in the back of the device allows for easy changing of the temperature. The hygrometer was even farther off. It read about 70% humidity while my (multiple) other hygrometer were reading 46%. There is a lower hole on the back to change that setting. So I'm not super confident that my outdoor readings are going to be real accurate, but they should be close. A larger version would be my preference, for easier reading from a distance.
