BF-430 is a low cost SMALL (2.6" x 3.6") industrial Single port RS232 or RS485 serial device server that can make your industrial serial devices to be IP / Ethernet network enabled. Configuration and firmware upgrade are available using the network. PPPoE & DDNS protocol makes the user connect to Internet without static IP.
The BF-430 is easy to configure using a simple Web page configuration page. The terminal block on the BF-430 is used for power connection and/or RS485 operation. The RS232 connection is a standard DB9 male. The power connection (9-30VDC) can be made using the INCLUDED wall supply with barrel plug or wired in directly to the terminal block.

Don't use this with a Firewall or any other security sensitive device. The security for configuring it is sub-standard. It does not support ssh only telnet. Configuration credentials complexity are non-existent.Tried 3 variations of these from 3 different vendors on amazon and all had the same security flaws and configuration interfaces. They all appear to come from of the same Chinese supplier.

Works great. There's was a bit of head scratching before I found the small switch that selects between RS232 and RS485. Yes it's in the manual, as always read your manual.

Documentation is surprisingly good. Works great for my need- to control RS232-only equipment over LAN.My setup: RS232 (115.2k 8N1 Xon/Xoff with CR+LF term chars) connection to test equipment. On the LAN side, setup as TCP server. My only nit is that it would be nice if it were DHCP client by default. In order to setup, I had to plug directly into my Windows 10 PC using a null modem CAT5E cable (doesn't work with a regular Ethernet cable) to get it onto my LAN. I setup static IP on my router, and now just set the BF430 up as DHCP client.Just purchased my second BF430.
