I needed an IR illuminator for large backyard which faces a hill. I have a floodlight cam which is bright when the led floods come on, but night vision is lacking. You can only see about 20 feet all around. I want the hill lit up and this illuminator does the job.I shook the unit to see if there are lose illuminators based on a review I read but mine is solid! It's also been raining here and so far no water intrusion.Will update the review if anything changes.

Got this to supplement indoor security camera lighting.And for that purpose it works, but for my use case I need the light to be as invisible as possible.And this is really good, like really good, but it could be better.The ring ir lights built into my cameras are all but invisible, if you look straight into them you might be able to make out the slightest red glow.But this light actually has enough of a red glow that it illuminates just a little around the light, like, visible to the naked eye illuminates. Just a tiny bit, but it could be better.Overall though it works, gets the job done.

This is very low quality lighting. The fitting that the LEDs sit in are loose and rattle when moved. This works and is bright for your IR needs, but this is definitely low on the scale of workmanship. For indoor setups, this might last but I am not too confident on outside where harsh weather plays a factor.

I always check performance when I can before installing anything Amazon. This IR light was supposed to be rated at 12 watts. I bought it to supplement the IR lights for my Ring cameras. The 6 watt lights I have already work, but just wanted a bit more. I’m fortunate to have the ability to accurately measure the performance of some items, and as the provided picture shows, the current draw is less than what would be expected. Should be 1 amp. (12 volts x 1 amp = 12 watts). I confirmed that the on-when-dark function worked, so I guess that’s a plus.I’ll be returning it. I wonder how many of these are in the hands of customers that are unaware of the substandard performance.

I purchased this in order to use my VR gear with active hand tracking in a large (450 sq ft) room.Works perfectly.Just a little red glow from the leds, but the infrared fills the space.Looking at the light with the passthrough cameras on the VR headset is like staring into a floodlight.I don't lose any tracking at any point within the gaming space.

Improved my camera night vision quite a bit. Not sure how well it will last exposed to weather. My last one eventually got water inside and fried. I caulked this one for added protection

Looks like other brands that are available/popular, but the build quality is much much worse. I'm not confident these will last but luckily they won't be exposed to the weather.
