direct oem replacement for wheelbarrow air compressor i wish it wasn't plastic because the heat of the compressor makes it brittle and it will brake off

I bought this to replace the factory original, that melted when my pressure shut-off switch malfunctioned and caused my Ingersoll Rand SS3 compressor to overheat. When I was rebuilding the compressor I discovered that the air intake filter and housing were missing. The melted stem was still in the intake of the compressor. I was able to unscrew what was left, clean the threads and install this replacement part. It was the exact replacement and installed easily. My only complaint is that it is made of some sort of composite material that deforms easily when exposed to high heat. Usually due to running for long periods of time, due to the failure of the pressure shut-off switch. I have had this happen to me twice in the 14 years that I have owned the compressor. I am sure that IR knows that this is a problem but they don’t do anything about it. My only hope would be that they would redesign the filter housing to make it out of some type of metal with a barrier to protect the filter.

It came with the filter. So don't buy the filter then this product, unless you want an extra filter.
