It works. I use it for my temperature controller for a freshwater aquarium set up. I would recommend the product. Only issue would be that they need to replaced every few years. They randomly just stop working properly after a few years.

Thanks inkbird for offering an upgrade/ replacement so I didn't have to junk my whole temp controller unit. I like the plug and waterproof sensor in this version. It's sure to help me avoid damaging it in the future.

The old probe was reading 125⁰F on my inkbird 306T wifi. Open the back with a screw driver, then snip the old leads strip and solder the new leads onto the old. Now it's reading normal temps. I would gladly rate this replacement part 5 stars if they put the plug that's on the board on the replacement probe. Atleast the fix should be one and done, if it happens again it's a quick headphone type jack to plug in the new one.

Original hardwired metal-tip probe on ITC-308 controller failed after several years, began giving very high temp readings. Installed this probe as replacement, controller now working again. Product description incorrectly says that probe "only" works with model ITC-308S.Open back of controller, remove circuit board, un-solder hardwired probe, replace with new pigtail connector, re-assemble, attach new probe to connector, then plug in controller and test.

This probe is great, especially convenient in that you can change probes without soldering in the future, but unfortunately you have to solder the new socket for the initial setup with certain inkbird controllers. I have the Inkbird WiFi ITC-308.Setup:I re-used the motherboard connector from the original probe, stripped the thin wires with a lighter, and then connected/twisted the new probe wires together. After that I used heat shrink around the new connection. Pretty easy, but the device shouldn't require such a technical procedure to simply install marine aquarium appropriate temp probes, and makes me worry about a voided warranty.

It was unclear from the product description if I could use this with an ITC-308. When I purchased my unit I knew that the probe wasn't rated to be continuously submerged, but I took a chance. After a couple of years, the probe failed and it started reading well above my high alarm threshold. I ordered this replacement sensor and installed it. The sensor works great, is now designed to be used submerged, and it has a plug so if I need to replace it again I can easily swap it out.
