Did Dana 30 axle seals in the past when this tool was not available and never wanted to do them again. I had to fix a leaking seal that killed a lower Spicer ball joint on my current jeep and tried this tool. Thirty minutes and both seals were done with zero curse words, no thrown tools, and plenty of spare time for 12 beers.This tool is such a win in life. If you have a dana 30 out of a XJ or TJ or whatever it lists then get this even if you don't need it. Just having it and not needing it is better than needing it and not having it.

I used this to install my inner seals . it's a heavy duty little bugger made of steel, which surprised me for the price. I thought it might be plastic.It works perfectly , just removed it when I thought seal was close , reinstalled and few more turns got them inThe second picture is what I used to get the passenger inner seal out. After several attempts, using a prybar and piece of wood, I ended up using my 4 ft. pipe clamp pipe and a threaded washer/nut that fit inside the plastic guide, then the nut dropped down to catch the seal, A couple taps with my hammer and it popped right out.

Simple to use, easier than making a tool or risking damage to the seals trying to pound them in. Worth the money even if you only use it once.
