Withstands High Temperatures

Our IFB insulating refractory bricks are rated for high-temperature uses. The lightweight fire brick application is broad, mainly as an insulator in industrial and hobby kilns, forges, furnaces heated by electric spiral elements, or gas burners for hot face lining or outer heat insulation.

Excellent for small or large construction sites, repairs and maintenance, refractory services, and even for personal hobbies such as jewelry soldering or casting.

Insulating Fire Brick Applications

Soldering surface for jewelry: You can easily solder jewelry on this fire brick. You may drill little holes in the brick to keep your jewelry in place while soldering. The fire brick allows you to solder more quickly and efficiently because you can concentrate the heat where you want it.

PMC+ and PMC3 Metal Clay Firing: Jewelry makers can use this fire brick as a safe surface for firing metal clay with a butane torch.

Kiln for Pottery Making: Great for building larger kilns for pottery makers. If you have a missing or defective kiln brick, you found an excellent replacement brick to fix your oven.

Build a Mini Forge: Ideal for building a mini forge for knife making.

Update: I'm updating my previous review. The brick will start to crush after a while. This is more seen on the edges and you will loose the brick over the time. Also it keeps the heat in itself for a while, which for me is not favorable, but others may need it.I purchased this brick to use it in the lab and exposed it to 800 C for two hours and it passed without any problem. It's a little heavy, but I love the porous structure and I'm satisfied.
